Image Capture and Identification System and Process
A digital image depicting a digital representation of a scene is captured by an image sensor of a vehicle. An identification system recognizes a real-world object from the digital image as a target object based on derived image characteristics and identifies object information about the target object based on the recognition. The identification provides the object information to the vehicle data system of the vehicle so that the vehicle data system can execute a control function of the vehicle based on the received object information.

Systems and methods are described for a point-of-recognition optimizer system configured to optimize onsite user purchases at a physical location. In various aspects, a purchasable-unit identifier (ID) may be received via a computer transmission, where the purchasable-unit ID, as identified by an optimizer device, is associated with a recognized purchasable-unit located onsite with the optimizer device. Based on the purchasable-unit ID, a plurality of competing purchasable-units may be identified, which may be either onsite or offsite purchasable-units. An offer is transmitted via a second computer transmission for an offered purchasable-unit to the optimizer device where the offer originates from an outbidding purchasable-unit distributor, and where the outbidding purchasable-unit distributor outbid other competing purchasable-unit distributors, each distributor corresponding to the plurality of competing purchasable-units, for an opportunity for the optimizer device to receive the offer.

A system to determine offers and/or to determine the acceptability of offers based on received information relating to product redemption at a third party. A wireless device is enabled to provide offers. The wireless device receives card data for a financial account card and stores the card data in a memory associated with the wireless device. Responsive to using the card data in a transaction at a first merchant location, the wireless device receives transaction line-item data from a computing system associated with the first merchant location. The wireless device determines merchant information for a second merchant location and determines an offer associated with the second merchant location based on the line-item data and the merchant information for the second merchant. The wireless device presents the offer when the wireless device is near the second merchant location.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRIGGERING AN EVENT IN RESPONSE TO A POINT-OF-SALE TRANSACTION
A method of triggering an event based on occurrence of a POS transaction is provided in which an event processing server receives from a first user device associated with a first account, a first event triggering request. The request includes identification of a desired event to be triggered and first triggering criteria. The desired event is to be initiated by the event processing server upon occurrence of one or more POS transactions collectively meeting the first triggering criteria. The event processing server receives, from a transaction processing server, notification of an occurrence of a merchant POS transaction associated with the first account. The event processing server determines whether the occurrence of the merchant POS transaction results in the first triggering criteria having been met, and, if so initiates the desired event.

A method and system for conducting an online payment transaction through a point of sale device. The method includes receiving input from a user selecting an item for purchase through the point of sale device; calculating a total purchase amount for the item in response to a request from the user to purchase the item; and sending payment authorization for the total purchase amount from the point of sale device to a payment entity, in which the payment authorization is sent to the payment entity via a mobile communication device of the user. The method further includes receiving a result of the payment authorization from the payment entity through the mobile communication device; and completing the payment transaction based on the result of the payment authorization.

Method and Apparatus for Enhanced In-Store Retail Experience Using Location Awareness
Embodiments of the invention provide a nexus between a user's presence within or proximate to a brick and mortar store outside of an explicit user transaction within the store, that is based solely upon the user's presence within the store, and not on any affirmative actions taken by the user by maintaining location awareness of the user and by communicating this awareness in real time, as the user moves from location to location, to brick and mortar stores at or near to the user's location. In this way, embodiments of the invention link the user's virtual presence, for example via the Internet, and all of the user-related information that is available for data mining, for example using big data techniques, to the user's physical presence at a physical location to create an enhanced user experience within the physical location in real time.
