System and method for influencing a primary target through word-of-mouth interaction with secondary targets
Systems and methods for indirect advertising are disclosed. A real target is identified. Locations visited by the real target are identified. Secondary targets known to visit at least one of the identified locations are identified. A message designed to influence the real target is pushed to the secondary targets such that the real target may be influenced through word-of-mouth interaction with the secondary targets and led to believe that a larger phenomenon is occurring.

Systems and methods for identifying, interacting with, and purchasing items of interest in video content. A plurality of video image frames are provided to a user, and a selection of one of the image frames is received and displayed. One or more selectable visual indicators are displayed on the selected image frame, with at least one of the visual indicators being associated with a product or service shown in the image frame. The user can select one of the visual indicators to be directed to information about the product or service, including where the product or service can be purchased.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving from a campaign manager device information defining a line item in an online advertising system, including receiving information defining constraints for the line item. The subject disclosure may further include collecting browsing history information for targetable users matching the constraints for the line item, generating a machine learning model to rank the targetable users and building a new segment based on users ranked by the model. The subject disclosure may further include providing, to the campaign manager device, a recommendation to add the new segment to the line item, receiving from the campaign manager device an indication to attach the new segment to the line item, and subsequently, providing advertisement content to targeted users according to the line item including the new segment. ONLINE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN CONTROLLER TO ORCHESTRATE ALLOCATION OF ADS
Ad segments on a Web page are filled with ads that are served by a service provider operating between a user computer and publisher on one end and multiple ad serving entities on the other. The ads include those served by publisher ad server and also real time bidding. An offline campaign controller orchestrates the allocation of guaranteed and real time bidding by monitoring performance of the direct sold campaigns and generating updates to targeting parameters of UOE ad campaign and rules for an edge server. When a direct sold campaign is on track, the updates on UOE campaign permits an ad segment to be considered for real time bidding.

Supplementing an Image Gallery with Status Indicators
In various example embodiments, a system and method to provide status indictors on an image galley is disclosed. At least one item to be displayed in an image gallery on a client device is identified. Once identified, status information for the item is obtained. Subsequently, gallery rendering and display instructions are generated and transmitted to the client device. The rendering and display instructions include the status information and enables generation of status indicators from the status information for display over the image gallery at the client device. The rendering and display instructions may also include instructions for displaying the image gallery. The status information at the client device may be updated as status information changes.
Displaying content items based on device status
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for presenting content items. In one aspect, a method includes identifying an opportunity to present a content item at a device and in a manner that precludes a user from accessing content of one or more applications executing on the device. Data relating to a status of each of the one or more applications are identified. A level of urgency for a user to access content of the one or more applications is determined based on the data. A response to the opportunity to present a content item is selected based on the level of urgency for the user to access content of the one or more applications. The response is selected from a first response that causes presentation of the content item and a second response that precludes presentation of the content item.
