Lifting device and associated methods
A lifting device may include a main body member and a top member that is detachably connectable to portions of the main body member. The top member may include a top and a hoist assembly that is connected to and extends outwardly from the top. The lifting device may be used to assist in lifting a patient from a seated or a prone position. The main body member is moveable between a collapsed position that is defined as side support member of the main body member being positioned adjacent to a support connecting member of the main body member, and the opened position is defined as a side support members of the main body member being positioned substantially perpendicular to the support connecting member.
Self or assist-operated human floor lift
A self or assist-operated lift apparatus is disclosed. In various embodiments, the lift apparatus includes a vertical rail; a linear bearing positioned to be moved along the vertical rail; a drive mechanism coupled to the linear bearing and configured to move the linear bearing at a controlled rate along the vertical bearing between a first position at a lower end of a range of motion and a second position at an upper end of the range of motion; and a seat attached to the linear bearing, the seat being constructed at least in part of a substantially rigid material and having a size and shape suitable to accommodate a seated human occupant.
Emergency Lifting Apparatus
A portable, lightweight emergency lifting device for downed persons that is intended for use by paramedics/emergency personnel as well as medical facilities and private owners. The lifting device has a single electric screw extendible ram, with a frictional fail safe lifting system. It has a seat with a ramped front edge in conjunction with an arced support leg configuration that allows the seat to extend to the ground when the device is in its collapsed configuration, to aid in loading the patient. The vertical legs open only to an acute angled position so as to leave the immediate area under the seat open and uncluttered. The frame rolls on a pair of fixed front wheels and a wider pair of rear casters.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR TRANSFERRING AN OBJECT
A transfer device includes an extendable transfer platform. The transfer platform includes a fixed plate, a moveable plate, and at least one platform actuator configured to selectively move the moveable plate relative to the fixed plate between a retracted position and an extended position in which a leading edge of the moveable plate is located distally from a leading edge of the fixed plate. The transfer platform also includes a transfer belt having a first end secured to a first driven roller, and a second end secured to a second driven roller. The transfer device also includes a platform support structure secured to the transfer platform for supporting the transfer platform above a floor surface. The platform support structure includes at least one support actuator configured to selectively move the transfer platform relative to the floor surface between a lowered position and a raised position.
FIREMAN'S CARRY HARNESS
A harness assembly to assist in and secure a fireman's carry of a victim. The harness assembly includes an adjustable strap to be secured around the victim and an adjustable strap to be secured over the shoulder and under the armpit of a carrier. A harness system includes two harness assemblies with one harness assembly being attached around a leg of the victim and one shoulder of the carrier and the other harness assembly being attached around the chest of the victim and the other shoulder of the carrier. The straps are adjustable so that they can be cinched.
LIFT FOR FALLEN PERSON AT HOME
A household lift for fallen persons is devised in which a modified stepladder serves as the main lift structure while also serving as a stepladder storably foldable and usable within the house. A removable winch is set atop the stepladder, and it too can serve other purposes and can be of hand-cranked or electric powered design. The winch's lift cable is removably attached to preferably a prior-art sling type which first lays flat on the floor to facilitate moving the person onto it, and next pulls the person up into a secure sit-up position and then high enough to lower onto a wheelchair or other safe destination.
Pneumatically actuated lifting cushion
This device relates to a pneumatically inflatable cushion, which is lightweight, portable, extremely durable, and aesthetically attractive. The device is an inflatable cushion designed to assist in raising and lowering people who are unable to move freely by themselves. It is designed to support, horizontally stabilize, and center a person sitting on the cushion. This device can be used in the bathtub while exposed to water, and on regular surfaces both indoors and outdoors. This device is also designed to provide lift and support on solid surfaces and on water surfaces. This device is also designed to assist in the raising and lowering of objects, both living and non-living. The height and width can be easily customized and adapted to the needs of the user. This device may be used individually or connected with multiple units to form a larger monolithic device capable of lifting larger and heavier loads.
Platform for Lifting an Individual from a Fallen Position
A platform for lifting an individual from a fallen position is designed to be slid beneath the body of a user and transitions between a collapsed and an extended configuration. The extended configuration raises the individual to a seated position. The platform for lifting an individual has a base platform, a lifting platform, a folding wedge, a set of collapsible supports, and a lift-control assembly. The folding wedge is hingedly connected in between the base platform and the lifting platform so that the folding wedge forms a ramp, while in the collapsed configuration, that is slid beneath the body of the downed individual. The collapsible supports are connected in between the base platform and the lifting platform. The lift-control assembly is mounted in between the base platform and the lifting platform and generates the force required to transition the platform for lifting an individual between the extended and collapsed configurations.
PATIENT UPRIGHT DEVICE
Devices for bringing a person that has fallen to the ground to an upright position comprise frames adapted to receive a person's body after a person has achieved a lying position, inflatable bladders attached to the frames on which the person's body rests when the bladders are in an uninflated state, the bladders being inflatable from a first position to a second position, and fittings attached to the inflatable bladders for receiving hoses to allow the inflatable bladders to be inflated from the first position to the second position.
Personal assistive lift device and related methods
The disclosed personal assistive lift device is a self-operated device intended to a help a moderately disabled, yet still ambulatory, person regain a standing position after a fall. The disclosed personal assistive lift device includes a main leg and two support legs pivotably connected together, a seat movably affixed to the main leg, a handlebar positioned on a top portion of the main leg, and a module containing a gearmotor configured to move the seat along the main leg. A major advantage of the disclosed device is to allow the user to safely expand the range of activities and locations, whether indoor or outdoor, that the user can access.
