An apparatus for reorienting a person includes a wrap having a first lateral portion and a second lateral portion, the first lateral portion and the second lateral portion being releasably securable to one another along an anterior region of the wrap between lateral sides of the person and along a posterior region of the wrap between the lateral sides of the person via a set of fasteners. Each of the lateral portions are dimensioned to extend around a corresponding one of the lateral sides of the person and having anterior and posterior edges that are dimensioned to extend at most partway across to an opposite one of the lateral sides of the person. The wrap is made from flexible materials and dimensioned to extend at least from below knees of the person to above the elbows of the person and snugly retain the person therein.
LIFT CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR LIFTING DEVICES AND LIFTING DEVICES COMPRISING THE SAME
According to embodiments, a method for operating a lifting device monitoring with a control unit, monitoring current supplied to the lift actuator when the lift actuator is actuated; discontinuing the current supplied to the lift actuator when the current exceeds a current threshold value; determining an accumulated number of overload stops based on the current supplied to the lift actuator; determining at least one operating characteristic of the lifting device and an operating time of the lifting device as the lifting device is actuated; determining an accumulated load-time parameter for the lifting device based on the at least one operating characteristic and the operating time; and uploading, with a transceiver, at least one of the accumulated number of overload stops and the accumulated load-time parameter to at least one of the computer, the network, and the data storage device.
HOSPITAL BED HAVING DRAINAGE BAG SENSOR
A number of patient beds are disclosed. Some patient beds have siderails that are movable by a patient so that the patient can egress from the bed without interference from the siderails. Various caregiver control panels and patient control panels for controlling features and functions of a patient bed are also disclosed. For example, a cart with caregiver control inputs, including hand inputs on a graphical user interface (GUI) and foot inputs, is disclosed. Patient positioning and transfer devices are also disclosed. Various types of in-bed physical therapy devices are also disclosed.
Hospital bed having turn assist panels
A patient bed includes turn assist panels to rotate portions of a mattress. Some patient beds have siderails that are movable by a patient so that the patient can egress from the bed without interference from the siderails. Some patient beds have caregiver control panels for controlling features and functions of the patient bed, such as movement of the turn assist panels.
Patient transport device and method
A wheelchair for transporting a patient comprising a support frame, the support frame having an upper portion located substantially near a first end of the support frame and a lower portion located substantially near a second end of the support frame, at least one seat extension, the seat extension moveably coupled to the support frame between the lower portion and upper portion of the support frame, at least one leg, a first leg coupled to the lower portion of the support frame, at least two wheels mounted on the support frame, an anti-tip bar, the anti-tip bar being substantially horizontally disposed on the lower portion of the support frame and projecting in the lateral direction for stabilizing the wheelchair in the lateral direction, and an extendable beam positioned on the upper portion of the support frame and moveable coupled to the support frame.
Mobility device for assisting a patient
A mobility device for assisting a patient includes a frame having a wheel arranged to maneuver the mobility device; a lift assembly coupled to the frame and movable between a lowered position and a raised position; and a support arm coupled to the lift assembly for movement with the lift assembly and arranged to support an upper part of a body of the patient and to support at least part of his weight on the mobility device when the lift assembly is raised from the lowered position to the raised position and when maneuvering the mobility device.
Apparatus and method for improving standing sitting standing of persons with mobility issue
An apparatus that is configured to assist a helper to move a seated person from a first, seated position to a second, standing position, includes a lifting/assisting device, the lifting/assisting device being comprised of: a rigid elongated member, the elongated member having a longitudinal axis, a first proximal end and a second distal end, the first proximal end being adapted for being positioned on a floor; an offset section, the offset section being offset from the longitudinal axis a distance X and being located along the elongated member between the first proximal end and the second distal end; and, a lateral grasping member for the person, the grasping member being positioned distally of the offset section; a second offset member, the second offset member being of a dimension to approximately match the first offset section; and, a grab member positioned distally of the second offset member for use by the helper.
Person lift systems
A person lift system includes a lift unit, a sling bar that is coupled to the lift unit, where the sling bar includes a plurality of attachment points each having coupling sensors and an electronic control unit that is communicatively coupled to the coupling sensors. The person lift system also includes a lifting accessory having a plurality of lifting points that are adapted to be selectively coupled to the plurality of attachment points of the sling bar. The electronic control unit comprises a processor and a computer readable and executable instruction set which, when executed by the processor detects with the coupling sensors whether the lifting accessory is installed in a proper manner and projects an indication when the lifting accessory is installed in the proper manner.
PATIENT LIFT APPARATUS
There is described a patient lift apparatus comprising a supporting frame, a boom portion connected to the supporting frame via a pivot joint (PJ1) to allow the boom portion to pivot with respect to the supporting frame about a pivot axis (PA1), and a boom actuator to mechanically assist pivotal movement of the boom portion with respect to the supporting frame. The boom portion is configured as a telescopic arm comprising an outer member and an inner member that is telescopically received inside the outer member to allow displacement of the inner member with respect to the outer member and adjustment of an effective length of the telescopic arm. The patient lift apparatus further comprises a centering system configured to center the inner member with respect to the outer member and suppress a clearance between the inner member and outer member. The centering system includes a first centering element mounted on the outer member and interposed between an inner side of the outer member and an outer periphery of the inner member, and a second centering element mounted on the inner member and guided inside the outer member. The first and second centering elements are configured to suppress the clearance between the outer member and inner member.
