A system for detecting and reporting the separation of two entities including where the entities are people or items. In some implementations, the system performs separation checking triggered by movement conditions, or by checking of the state of an entity upon separation, and additionally adapts checking methods according to a condition.

Method and apparatus for detecting when a security system is armed and a mobile device is left inside

A method of detecting when a first mobile device is left in a building including: determining that an alarm system of a building has been armed; detecting positional data of a first mobile device for a selected period of time after the alarm system has been activated; determining a location of the first mobile device after the selected period of time in response to the positional data, the location of the first mobile device being within the building; and activating an alarm in response to the location of the first mobile device being within the building.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MOBILE PHONE LOSS PREVENTION FUNCTION BY MEANS OF BLUETOOTH EARPHONES
20170358198 · 2017-12-14 · ·

The present invention relates to a method for controlling a mobile phone loss prevention function by means of Bluetooth earphones. The method includes: a link loss determination step (S10) of measuring a sensitivity of a signal transmitted/received between a mobile phone and the Bluetooth earphone and determining occurrence of a link loss; warning sound generation steps (S20, S40, and S60) of, when the link loss has occurred, generating a warning sound, which warns of loss of the mobile phone, through the Bluetooth earphone in such a manner as to amplify a volume of the warning sound from a low volume to a high volume for each step; and warning sound stop identification steps (S30, S50, and S70) of determining whether a warning sound stop button has been operated by a user who has recognized the warning sound and selecting whether the generation of the warning sound is to be stopped.

Tamper resistant one-time use wristband and clasp and algorithm to enhance the practical use of radio frequency for proximity between two or more entities

An electronic patient monitoring system and method of operation that includes one or more generally non-metal, tamper-resistant patient identification and monitoring devices, an observer transmitter/receiver device configured to receive and detect one or more beacon signals that exceed a predetermined threshold from at least one of the not easily removable patient identification and monitoring devices, set a time to hold open a window for a response on the transmitter/receiver device, and send a request for information to the observer with the transmitter/receiver device, and a central computer system. Each of the transmitter/receiver device and the central computer system, including, at least, a computer processor, communications components and system software to communicate with the observer transmitter/receiver device at specified/predetermined time intervals to receive observer- and patient-specific information.

MOBILE COMMUNICATION DEVICE FOR HOME AUTOMATION

A mobile communication devices operates to: generate first control data to control an auxiliary device coupled to one of a plurality of home automation devices; establish a group of the plurality of home automation devices; establish at least one task associated with the group of the plurality of home automation devices; receive selection of the at least one task associated with the group of the plurality of home automation devices; and generate second control data in response to selection of the at least one task associated with the group, wherein, responsive to the selection of the at least one task associated with the group, at least one of the plurality of wireless transceivers transmits the second control data to the group of the plurality of home automation devices to control, in accordance with the at least one task, each of the auxiliary devices coupled thereto.

Wireless device and methods for use in a paging network

A wireless device includes a user interface that generates a pairing signal in response to an indication from a user to pair the wireless device to at least one remote device and generates a first location request signal in response to a second indication from a user to locate the at least one remote device. A short-range wireless transceiver communicates RF signals to pair the wireless device to the at least one remote device and that transmits a first RF paging signal to the at least one remote device in response to the location request signal.

Separation alert device

A separation alert device for warning a user of separation from an item includes a housing that defines an internal space. The housing is configured for retention on the user's person. A power module, a microprocessor, a first proximity sensor and a plurality of alarms are coupled to the housing and are positioned in the internal space. The microprocessor is operationally coupled to the power module. The first proximity sensor and the alarms are operationally coupled to the microprocessor. A second proximity sensor is in wireless communication with the microprocessor. The second proximity sensor is coupled to an item that the user desires to retain proximate to the user. The microprocessor is positioned to receive a location signal from the second proximity sensor. Separation of the first proximity sensor by a preset distance from the second proximity sensor will compel the microprocessor to compel the alarms to notify the user.
