IMPROVED CLAMP AND PATIENT LIFTING AIDS USING THE CLAMP
Disclosed is an assembly comprising a clamp, strap and rod. The strap is provided for suspending a load from the rod and/or clamp. The clamp comprises a gripping part for gripping around the rod, enabling a clamping of the clamp on the rod. The strap engages with the clamp along a first and second contact line. Two adjacent strap parts form an angle around the first contact line. When a load is suspended from the strap, the strap exerts a force on the clamp at the first contact line, pushing the clamp at the first contact line in a closing direction, pressing the gripping part against the rod. The gripping part is resilient and provided with a pretension for pressing against the rod when no load is suspended from the strap. Further disclosed are lifting aids using the clamp for lifting/repositioning patients with physical limitation.
SHEET CLAMP
A sheet clamp comprising: a body having first and second sides and an aperture extending between the first and second sides to provide a channel through which a portion of one or more folded sheets may be inserted in use from the first side to the second side; the channel having opposed side walls, a dimension of the channel between the side walls decreasing from the second side to the first side; a clamping block having two block sides dimensioned to be received within the channel with the block sides engaging the side walls of the channel when inserted from the second side of the channel; a retaining member pivotally mounted on the body and moveable between a first position in which the channel is open, permitting the block to be removed from the channel and a second position in which the retaining member covers the channel from the second side preventing removal of the block from the channel.
SUBJECT SUPPORT SLINGS INCLUDING VISUAL INDICATORS FOR COUPLING TO LIFT MECHANISMS
A subject support system includes a sling, a clamp, and a strap coupled to the clamp. The sling includes an outer perimeter extending around and defining a support region of the sling and a visual indicator positioned along the outer perimeter of the sling. The clamp is selectively coupled to the visual indicator. The clamp is repositionable between a closed position, in which the clamp is engaged with the visual indicator, and an open position, in which the clamp is disengaged from the visual indicator. The strap coupled to the clap is configured to couple the clamp to a lift mechanism.
Patient lift and sling having wireless communication
A person lift system includes a motor and a sling bar coupled to the motor. The sling bar includes a first attachment hook at a first end region of the sling bar and a second attachment hook at a second end region of the sling bar. A sling includes a main body section and a plurality of loops coupled to the main body section. Each of the plurality of loops is configured to attach to one of the plurality of attachment hooks. A first electronic reader is coupled to the sling bar near the first attachment hook. A second electronic reader is coupled to the sling bar near the second attachment hook. Each of a plurality of short range wireless tags is coupled to a respective one of the plurality of loops.
Infection control strap and patient lifting system
A patient lifting device includes an infection control lift strap with an inner core and an outer plastic layer that can be easily and effectively cleaned with standard disinfectant. The lift strap includes a waterproof sealed belt clamp assembly. A winch assembly includes a motor and high-efficiency gear assembly that lifts and lowers the strap with a spool assembly including an eccentric cylindrical spool. The eccentric cylindrical spool eliminates inconsistent performance of the lifting device as the strap drapes and coils onto the spool without raised attachment points. The strap includes top and bottom layers with different coefficients of friction to prevent slipping and self-tightening of the strap on the spool. The lifting device includes a thickness roller, a strap guard, and an electro-mechanical brake that locks the motor and prevents back driving. The gear assembly provides back driving when power is removed and the brake is released.
Multi-purpose emergency services strap
A multi-purpose emergency services strap for facilitating lifting, transporting or carrying an individual has a strap body with a plurality of independent loops formed in the strap body. The independent loops include at least two adjacent, proximal leg loops formed in the strap body on either side of the midline, end loops on each end of the multi-purpose emergency services strap, and a plurality of adjacent handles formed in the strap body positioned distal to each of the at least two adjacent, leg loops and proximal to the end loops. The multi-purpose emergency services strap also includes a back strap and attachment loops that can be variously configured for many rescue and transport applications for humans and animals.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LIFTING AND POSITIONING A PATIENT
An inflatable device for lifting a patient includes an inflatable body having a top sheet and a bottom sheet attached along opposing side edges and forming at least one cavity there between, and a plurality of connecting members extending outwardly from the opposing side edges of the inflatable device. The inflatable device is configured to be inflated while being lifted by the hoist.
Patient/invalid lift with support line bearing power and data communications
A patient lift for transporting patients having a hoist assembly, a lift assembly and an integrated flexible load-bearing supporting member. The flexible load-bearing supporting member is retractable into the hoist assembly and has integrated load-bearing, data communications, and power components to transmit data and/or power to/from the hoist assembly and lift assembly.
Locking Clip for Patient Sling
A locking clip for attaching a patient sling to a spreader bar includes a first attachment site for accepting an attachment element mounted on either the sling or the spreader bar, a second attachment site for attaching the device to the other of the sling or the spreader bar, and at least one locking element for locking the attachment element in place. The clip also includes a release mechanism to allow removal of an attachment element and is configured to allow rotation of the attachment element when it is locked in place so that the sling can be rotated relative to the spreader bar.
