Apparatus and methods for securing a string to an acoustic, stringed instrument are disclosed. Example apparatus include string anchors secured to a bridge of the stringed instrument. The apparatus provide components enabling selective tensioning of the string. A seat arrangement provided by string anchors receives an anchor end of string and the string passes from the seat arrangement through a base arrangement and towards a headstock of the acoustic instrument.

The trigger and securing device are disposed on either side of a cymbal surface or a cymbal stand via magnetic force and the choking mechanism is in electrical connection with the trigger to interrupt the signal for choking purposes and is mounted on a surface of the cymbal to be choked.

A piezoelectric-based trigger is secured in an enclosed volume or enclosure formed in the electronic handheld musical instrument. When manipulated by a musician in a normal fashion, freely moving beads float or travel within the enclosure of the electronic handheld musical instrument and strike against a sensitive face of the piezoelectric transducer device to create a desired sound effect.

A portable amplifier is disclosed. In embodiments, the portable amplifier comprises a cabinet that opens and closes on a diagonal to contain all internal components, and optimizes sound quality. In embodiments the portable amplifier can be connected to an extension cabinet in order to provide an additional speaker. The portable amplifier can function on AC or DC power, and features user-friendly lighted ports and controls. The amplifier can feature AINiCo speakers and a three-spring reverb tank. The portable amplifier can be optimized for weight and power to achieve output of about 4 to about 5 watts per pound.
