A first contact and a second contact are provided at each of a plurality of keys, and are successively closed in accordance with a key press operation. On the basis of respective closed sense signals from the first contact and the second contact, a duration from when the first contact is closed until the second contact is closed is counted as a first count value and then a duration after this counting has ended is counted as a second count value. An attainment duration value and the second count value are compared, and when a predetermined condition is satisfied, a control signal is outputted. When this control signal is received, sound emission information instructing an emission of a sound by a sound emission controller is sent. The sound emission information includes touch information based on the first count value.

A keyboard unit includes: a key; a displacement member which is configured to be driven directly or indirectly with the key by a pressing operation of the key to be moved in a forward stroke direction; a detector which is configured to detect that an operation direction of the displacement member has changed from the forward stroke direction to a returning direction; and a generator which is configured to generate sound generation indication information based on information detected by the detector.

Method and device for detecting a velocity of an actuation of a deflectable transmitter component or key of an electronic musical instrument
09685147 · 2017-06-20 ·

The invention relates to a method for detecting actuation of a deflectable transmitter component, comprising the steps of: recording (20) a measured value (U) corresponding to a deflection of the deflectable transmitter component; comparing (30) the measured value (U) with a predefined threshold value (U.sub.s); if a result of the comparison (30) is that a predefined condition has been satisfied (34): storing the measured value (U) as a first measured value (U.sub.1); allowing (40) a predefined time difference (t) to elapse; recording (50) a second measured value (U.sub.M) corresponding to a deflection of the transmitter component; and calculating (60) a value representing the actuation.

Different aspects of the invention implement a sensor module that can be configured as a keyboard module or as a pedal module, allowing to connect a plurality of keyboard and pedal modules to assemble a configuration to the user's liking, such as, for example, the usual configuration of an 87-key piano together with two pedals. The sensor module transmits information about detected key or pedal strokes to a computer application for playback, either aural or visual. At the same time, the sensor module allows, both in the keyboard module and pedal module configuration, to transmit the feeling of playing a real piano.
