Adjustable cervical traction assemblies for person support apparatuses

A cervical traction assembly for use with a patient support apparatus includes an adjustment carriage track member including a connecting bracket assembly that releasably connects to a mount support member of the patient support apparatus. The adjustment track member includes a track body including a pair of opposing sidewalls that are spaced-apart from each other to define an elongated channel therebetween. Each sidewall includes a guide track that extends along a length of the respective sidewall. A rope angle adjustment carriage is located within the channel. The rope angle adjustment carriage includes a first track engagement member that is received by one of the guide tracks of one of the sidewalls and a second track engagement member that is received by another of the guide tracks of another of the sidewalls. The first track engagement member has a locked configuration that inhibits movement of the rope angle adjustment carriage.

When a user rests on the device in a supine position, the top surface of the neck support body supports the neck, and the shoulder abutting bodies abut against the shoulders. The inflation device inflates or deflates the airbags to displace the neck support body along a first axis and the shoulder abutting bodies along a second axis to change the force exerted by the neck support body and shoulder abutting bodies on the neck and shoulders to achieve cervical traction effects.

An adjustable inflatable neck support device includes a supporting portion and a bearing portion whose height is smaller than that of the supporting portion. The supporting portion has a center support body and can be provided therein with a first inflatable airbag. Two second inflatable airbags can be provided in the neck support device. An inflation device can be connected to the airbags. When a user rests on the neck support device in a supine position or on the side of the head, the top surface thereof can be adjusted to support the neck. The inflation device inflates or deflates the airbags to displace the top surface of the neck support device to change the force exerted on the neck by the center support body and/or areas of the top surface of the neck support device that correspond in position to the airbags to restore and maintain head/spine alignment.
