Method for playing back information recording medium
An optical disk (100) of the present invention includes (i) a medium information region (101) (a) in which type identification information is recorded by recesses and/or protrusions which are formed by a given modulation method and whose lengths are longer than a length of an optical system resolution limit of a playback device and (b) in which first address information is recorded in a first address data format and (ii) a data region (102) (a) in which content data is recorded by recesses and/or protrusions which are formed by the given modulation method and which include a recess and/or a protrusion whose length is shorter than the length of the optical system resolution limit and (b) in which second address information is recorded in a second address data format.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HIGHER ORDER DIMENSIONAL SPACE VIDEO SEGMENTATION
This disclosure relates to system and methods for segmenting a video in a higher order dimensional space. A video may be segmented by obtaining visual information defining an image of the video. The visual information may include pixels of the image and may be represented in a display space having a first dimensionality. A designation of a subset of the visual information represented in the display space as a part of an object portrayed in the image may be obtained. The visual information and the designation may be represented in the higher order dimensional space having a second dimensionality greater than the first dimensionality. An association of the visual information represented in the higher order dimensional space with the object may be obtained. The association may be correlated with the visual information represented in the display space. The correlation may define a location of the object in the image.
Method of writing a file to a plurality of media and a storage system thereof
In one embodiment, a storage system configured for reading a file written to a plurality of tape media includes at least two tape drives and a read/write control. The read/write control is configured to load a tape medium into a tape drive, and read metadata from the loaded tape medium and determine from the metadata whether the tape medium is a parent tape medium or a child tape medium for the file. The read/write control is also configured to retrieve ID information on the parent tape medium from the metadata saved in the child tape medium in response to a determination that the loaded tape medium is a child tape medium, and load the parent tape medium identified by the retrieved ID information into another tape drive. Moreover, the read/write control is configured to read a written first file part based on metadata saved in the loaded parent tape medium.

Reproduction device, reproduction method, and recording medium that display graphics based on tone mapping
The present technology relates to a reproduction device, a reproduction method, and a recording medium capable of displaying graphics with a broader dynamic range of luminance and appropriate brightness. The reproduction device reads a Tone_map stream and a graphics stream of an extended graphics from a recording device, wherein the recording device records the Tone_map stream including HDR information indicating a luminance feature of the extended graphics which are first graphics with a first luminance range different from and broader than a second luminance range, and a luminance conversion definition information used in luminance conversion from the extended graphics to standard graphics. The standard graphics are graphics with the second luminance range. The reproduction device converts the extended graphics into the standard graphics based on the luminance conversion definition information of the extended graphics included in the Tone map stream.
Direction indicators for panoramic images
Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for improving a display of panoramic video data by including a first angle indicator, as a visual representation of a direction of a displayed portion of the panoramic video data relative to a reference location, along with a second angle indicator indicating an object of interest. The second angle indicator may display a fixed angle or a recommended angle to improve navigation within the panoramic video data. The fixed angle may be determined by the user or the device and may remain stationary during playback of the panoramic video data, allowing the user to switch between directional views without panning. The recommended angle may be determined based on a location of a tracked object, allowing the user to display the tracked object without panning. The second angle indicator may be represented by an icon illustrating the object of interest.
ON DEMAND VISUAL RECALL OF OBJECTS/PLACES
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, observing a plurality of objects viewed through a smart lens, wherein the plurality of objects are in a frame of an image viewed by the smart lens, determining an identification for an object of the plurality of objects, assigning tag information for the object based on the identification, storing the tag information for the object and the frame in which the object was observed, receiving a recall request for the object, retrieving the tag information for the object and the frame responsive to the receiving the recall request, and displaying the tag information and the frame. Other embodiments are disclosed.
IMAGING APPARATUS, DISPLAY METHOD, AND PROGRAM
An imaging apparatus includes: an imaging unit configured to continuously image a subject and generate moving image data of the subject; a display unit configured to display a moving image corresponding to the moving image data; a shooting controller configured to control the imaging unit to continuously image the subject in a moving image mode capable of connecting different pieces of the moving image data having different shooting time-points; a thumbnail generation unit configured to generate resized image data by performing resize processing of reducing a size of image data of at least one frame constituting the moving image data, and generate a thumbnail by combining a resized image corresponding to the resized image data with a template having a display area displaying information indicating that a different piece of the moving image data may be connected; and a display controller configured to display the thumbnail.

System and method for processing a video stream to extract highlights
With the widespread availability of video cameras, we are facing an ever-growing enormous collection of unedited and unstructured video data. Due to lack of an automatic way to generate highlights from this large collection of video streams, these videos can be tedious and time consuming to index or search. The present invention is a novel method of online video highlighting, a principled way of generating a short video highlight summarizing the most important and interesting contents of a potentially very long video, which is costly both time-wise and financially for manual processing. Specifically, the method learns a dictionary from given video using group sparse coding, and updates atoms in the dictionary on-the-fly. A highlight of the given video is then generated by combining segments that cannot be sparsely reconstructed using the learned dictionary. The online fashion of the method enables it to process arbitrarily long videos and starts generating highlights before seeing the end of the video, both attractive characteristics for practical applications.
