Methods for metabolic oligosaccharide engineering that incorporates derivatized alkyne-bearing sugar analogs as “tags” into cellular glycoconjugates are disclosed. Alkynyl derivatized Fuc and alkynyl derivatized ManNAc sugars are incorporated into cellular glycoconjugates. Chemical probes comprising an azide group and a visual or fluorogenic probe and used to label alkyne-derivatized sugar-tagged glycoconjugates are disclosed. Chemical probes bind covalently to the alkynyl group by Cu(I)-catalyzed [3+2] azide-alkyne cycloaddition and are visualized at the cell surface, intracellularly, or in a cellular extract. The labeled glycoconjugate is capable of detection by flow cytometry, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, confocal microscopy, and mass spectrometry.

New articles of outerwear with measuring indicia enable both the wearer and others to make instrument-free measurements. The outer surface of the outerwear has measuring indicia in one or more location, and can measure angles in degrees and lengths in metric units or American Standard units. Every article has at least two or more measuring indicia, such as protractors, metric rulers, American Standard rulers, rulers in the shape of a bar chart, T-shaped rulers, X-shaped rulers, and bands of fixed lengths. Every article of outerwear also has a system of making instrument-free measurements of angles and lengths by making use of two or more measuring indicia positioned in different parts of the outerwear. Each indicia can operate independently or in combination with other indicia to measure greater lengths. This is achieved by moving parts of the body such that some of the indicia become aligned with one another.

The set of tool holding-means are configured to attach a plurality of tools and a plurality of tool accessories to the garment(s). The present application provides elastomeric articles that are able to deliver skin care properties to a person wearing or coming into contact with the article. The articles comprise an elastomeric film a plant stem cell material. The plant stem cell material may be in the form of a bilayer membrane-encapsulated plant stem cell material. The plant stem cell material may be present as a layer or coating on a surface of the elastomeric film. Also provided are methods for the production of the articles.

In one embodiment, a fabric is treated by creating a treatment solution comprising a fluid repellant and an antimicrobial compound, creating a treatment foam from the treatment solution, and applying the treatment foam to only an outer side of a fabric so as to coat the outer side of the fabric with the fluid repellant and the antimicrobial compound without coating an inner side of the fabric with the fluid repellant and the antimicrobial compound.

The invention relates to a safety pocket for a work shirt, the safety pocket including, a pocket body suitable to receive items that the wearer would like to carry with them with ready access, having a back and front wall. An opening to the pocket body is formed between the front and back of the pocket body, and a safety means, is associated with the opening. The safety means acts to substantially catch and hold the items within the pocket body, if the person leans forward and the safety means may be moved between an open state, where items can be put inside the pocket body, and a secure state where items are substantially prevented from passing through the opening. The invention also relates to a variant to retrofit to existing pockets. The invention also relates to an improved work shirt, including the safety pocket.

A safety glove having a protective member or insert extending around the fingertip of the safety glove is provided. The protective member may be positioned along the outer surface or the inner surface of the glove. Alternatively, the protective member may be integrally formed between two layers of glove material. The protective member terminates distally from an interphalangeal joint line to enable finger flexion in order to grasp an item, such as a slab of meat to be deskinned in a skinning machine. The glove may include a rough outer surface formed from thrice dipping the glove and allowing the glove to cure. Additionally, the glove may have a width near the wrist that is wider than the width near the palm to enable the glove to be rapidly removed (i.e., doffed) in an emergency event of the glove getting caught in a rotating blade on the skinning machine.

A wearable track system has a strap having a first and second fastening end separated from one another by a strap length. The wearable track system further has a track extending along the strap length and being interconnected to the strap via at least one spacer and having at least one track length disposed above at least one of the first fastening end and the second fastening end from a portion of the track interconnected via the at least one spacer. This patent application describes a weighted, easily sanitized, pediatric dental garment that both shields children from biological fluids and helps them remain still during dental procedures. The garment is shaped like a traditional dental apron. Multiple layers comprise the garment; the outermost layers are made from vinyl or some other easily sanitized material. These layers are quilted into a plurality of cells. Each cell holds weighted disks or beads, which simulate a calming embrace. The garment also features a strap, straps, or pockets across the back, which the patient may hold and pull with varying degrees of force during the dental procedure to provide a stress outlet. These features help the patient to remain still and calm during the dental procedure.
