System and method for point of interest user interaction
A vehicle infotainment system is provided. The vehicle infotainment system includes a display screen for displaying a plurality of applications and a controller communicatively coupled to the display screen. The controller is configured to display an application on the display screen. The application is divided into a first display region, and a second display region. The controller is further configured to display a plurality of categories on the first display region. The controller is also configured to receive a selection of a category of the plurality of categories. In addition, the controller is configured to display, on the second display region, a plurality of selectable points of interest associated with the selected category.
NAVIGATING DRIVERS TO DYNAMICALLY SELECTED DROP-OFF LOCATIONS FOR SHARED RIDES
A method includes transmitting, to a driver computing device associated with a driver, navigational data to direct the driver to a first pick-up location and to direct the driver from the first pick-up location to a first drop-off location along a first route to fulfill a first transportation request associated with a first user. The method further includes determining that the first route is to be modified, identifying a drop-off area associated with the first drop-off location, and selecting a second drop-off location and a second route for the first user. The first drop-off location and the second drop-off location are located within the drop-off area. The method further includes transmitting, to the driver computing device, updated navigational data to direct the driver to the second drop-off location along the second route to fulfill the first transportation request.
Autonomous parking system and vehicle
An autonomous parking system includes an object detection apparatus, and one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to: perform an initial parking operation for parking a vehicle into a first parking space along a first path, the first path including one or more first turnaround points; during the initial parking operation, detect a second parking space using the object detection apparatus; generate a second path for parking the vehicle into the second parking space; and, in response to user input, perform at least one of a first parking operation along the first path or a second parking operation along the second path.
MAP APPLICATION WITH IMPROVED SEARCH TOOLS
Some embodiments provide a mapping application that provides a variety of UI elements for allowing a user to specify a location (e.g., for viewing or serving as route destinations) In some embodiments, these location-input UI elements appear in succession on a sequence of pages, according to a hierarchy that has the UI elements that require less user interaction appear on earlier pages in the sequence than the UI elements that require more user interaction. In some embodiments, the location-input UI elements that successively appear in the mapping application include (1) selectable predicted-destination notifications, (2) a list of selectable predicted destinations, (3) a selectable voice-based search affordance, and (4) a keyboard. In some of these embodiments, these UI elements appear successively on the following sequence of pages: (1) a default page for presenting the predicted-destination notifications, (2) a destination page for presenting the list of predicted destinations, (3) a search page for receiving voice-based search requests, and (4) a keyboard page for receiving character input.
Venues Map Application And System Providing A Venue Directory
In some implementations, a computing device can provide a map application providing a representation of a physical structure of venues (e.g., shopping centers, airports) identified by the application. In addition, the application can provide a unique venue directory, providing an easy and visual mechanism to search for categories of points of interest (e.g., clothes, food, restrooms) or specific items within the venue. Search results can be presented on a map of a floor within the venue as well as a listing providing all search results located within the venue.
DESTINATION CHANGES IN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES
A system can receive a destination change request inputted by a passenger of an autonomous vehicle, where the destination change request comprises a request to change a first destination of the passenger to a second destination. In response to receiving the destination change request, the system determines a feasibility indicator for the autonomous vehicle to travel to the second destination, and based on the feasibility indicator, determines a suggested destination being different from the second destination. The system transmits an instruction to a computing system of the autonomous vehicle, causing the computing system of the autonomous vehicle to reroute the autonomous vehicle to the suggested destination. The system then transmits an instruction to a computing device associated with a non-autonomous vehicle, where the instruction comprises a request or invitation for a driver of the non-autonomous vehicle to transport the passenger from the suggested destination to the second destination.
METHOD FOR GENERATING A VOICE ANNOUNCEMENT AS FEEDBACK TO A HANDWRITTEN USER INPUT, CORRESPONDING CONTROL DEVICE, AND MOTOR VEHICLE
A method for generating a voice announcement as feedback to a handwritten user input is disclosed in which a user enters on a control device. A list of possible whole words which can be entered by the user input is provided together with a corresponding transcription and a predetermined word end, which comprises one or more characters of a whole word of the whole words, is removed from the end of said whole word in accordance with a predetermined shortening rule and corresponding to this, a transcription end corresponding to the word end is determined based on a predetermined assignment rule and is removed from the corresponding transcription of the whole word for generating a partial word and an associated partial transcription. The partial word and the partial transcription are added to another list.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
There is provided a system for more efficiently transporting transport objects using a moving object. An information processing apparatus (100) that generates a movement instruction for a moving object that carries a transport object includes a first acquisition unit (141) configured to acquire information about the transport object for each space, a second acquisition unit (135) configured to acquire information representing a tendency of whether the moving object moves in accordance with the movement instruction, and a generation unit (143) configured to generate the movement instruction for the moving object on the basis of the information about the transport object and the information representing the tendency.
System and method for selecting a point of interest based on wait time
A method and system for selecting a point of interest are provided. The method includes receiving a user request from a vehicle user, determining a wait time for each of a plurality of points of interest, identifying a point of interest from the plurality points of interest based on the user request and the determined wait times at the plurality of points of interest, receiving a user input from the vehicle user, and updating navigation directions of a vehicle based on the identified point of interest when the user input includes an acknowledgment of the identified point of interest.
Video display system for vehicle
A video display system for a vehicle includes a video display device disposed in the vehicle so as to be viewable by a driver of the vehicle. A camera is disposed at the vehicle and having an exterior field of view and operable to capture image data. A control includes a data processor. The control, responsive at least in part to processing by the data processor of captured image data, detects an object present exterior of the vehicle that is in the field of view of the camera, and determines if the detected object constitutes a hazardous condition. Responsive to determination of the hazardous condition, the control controls the video display device to automatically display an alert to the driver of the vehicle, with the alert including display of video images of the object that are derived from captured image data or a graphic overlay on displayed video images.
