Progressive spatial searching using augmented structures

A location associated with a user of a computing device and a prefix portion of an input string may be received as one or more successive characters of the input string are provided by the user via the computing device. A list of suggested items may be obtained based on a function of respective recommendation indicators and proximities of the items to the location in response to receiving the prefix portion, and based on partially traversing a character string search structure having a plurality of non-terminal nodes augmented with bound indicators associated with spatial regions. The list of suggested items and descriptive information associated with each suggested item may be returned to the user, in response to receiving the prefix portion, for rendering an image illustrating indicators associated with the list in a manner relative to the location, as the user provides each successive character of the input string.

CROWDSOURCED NAVIGATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Crowdsourced navigation systems and methods are provided herein. An example method includes receiving a selected destination location of a trip request input into a navigation system of a vehicle and suggesting a different final destination location rather than the selected destination location. The different final destination location can be selected based on commonality between final destination locations of additional trip requests of other vehicles that specified the selected destination location.

Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for displaying a map. The method provides a first display area to display a map, and a second display area to overlap a portion of the first display area to display (i) a field to receive a search parameter and (ii) a set of predicted locations to view on the map. The second display area is moveable over the first display area in order to decrease its size to allow a larger portion of the map to be displayed in the first display area, or to increase its size to allow a larger number of predicted locations to be displayed in the second display area. In some embodiments, the second display area overlaps a bottom portion of the first display area. In some embodiments, the method is implemented by a map application that executes on a mobile device. The set of predicted locations displayed in the second display area in some embodiments include addresses harvested from applications executing on the mobile device. Examples of such applications include electronic mail applications, text messaging applications, the map application, ticket applications, restaurant reservation applications, social media applications, real estate applications, etc. The set of predicted locations includes in some embodiments addresses associated with previous destinations traveled to by the mobile device.

User Feedback Interfaces for Map Location Entry Points

A computing device can present a map user interface for users to suggest updates to entry point data for a place, such as points of interest to the user. For an entry point, the computing device can present an entry point indicator that remains in a fixed position on a map view. The user may move the map view as the entry point indicator remains fixed. In response to inputs, the computing device can adjust the map view, so that the fixed entry point indicator lies in a new position relative to the point of interest. The computing device can also insert an entry point indicator on the map view. In response to user inputs, the computing device can associate a location of the inserted entry point indicator with the location of an entry point. The computing device can send the entry point data changes to a server for implementation.

COMPARATIVE METRICS FOR ROUTE PLANNING SCENARIOS

A device can determine scenario information associated with a plurality of route planning scenarios. The scenario information can include information that describes, for each route planning scenario of the plurality of route planning scenarios, a condition or a configuration based on which a respective route plan is to be generated. The device can calculate, based on a plurality of route plans corresponding to the plurality of route planning scenarios, a set of metrics associated with the plurality of route planning scenarios. The set of metrics can be calculated based on a single user interaction with a user interface. The device can provide information associated with the set of metrics. The providing the information associated with the set of metrics can cause an action, associated with at least one route plan of the plurality of route plans, to be automatically performed.

ENCODING ROUTES TO POIS IN PROXIMITY SEARCHES USING BLOOM FILTERS
20200370907 · 2020-11-26 ·

A POI request comprising query criteria and information identifying a starting location is received. A network version starting segment is identified based on the information identifying the starting location. A route determination algorithm is expanded, starting at the starting segment. When the route determination algorithm is expanded to a new segment, it is determined whether any POIs associated with the new segment match the query criteria. Responsive to determining that a POI associated with the new segment satisfies the query criteria, a POI route from the starting segment to the POI is extracted. Map version agnostic identifiers are generated for each segment of the POI routes. Each of the map version agnostic identifiers are coded using at least one coding function. A bloom filter having the coded map version agnostic identifiers as members is generated. The bloom filter is provided such that a mobile apparatus receives the bloom filter.

Address Search Method and Device

An address search method and device, includes acquiring address search request information, determining to-be-found destination address information included in the address search request information, splitting the destination address information into at least one piece of sub-address information, where the destination address information is formed by multiple pieces of sub-address information, and the multiple pieces of sub-address information respectively correspond to different address types, matching the at least one piece of sub-address information or the at least one piece of sub-address information and the destination address information with different address information included in an address database, where each piece of address information stored in the address database includes different sub-address information that forms the address information, and setting address information that is obtained by matching and whose match degree is greater than a set threshold as found destination address information for output.

APPLICATION AND SYSTEM PROVIDING INDOOR SEARCHING OF A VENUE

In some implementations, a computing device can provide a map application providing a representation of a physical structure of venues (e.g., shopping centers, airports) identified by the application. The application can provide an inside view of the venue, which is accessible by other applications and programs on the user's device. Thus, whether intended or not, search results that are identified by the map application as having an inside view of the venue are also presented on a graphical user interface along with typical search results from the other applications.

Method for operating a central locking apparatus, central locking apparatus, and motor vehicle

The invention relates to a method for operating a central locking apparatus of a motor vehicle, which is locked by a central locking system of the central locking apparatus as a result of driving above a minimum speed threshold, and is then decelerated to below the minimum speed, wherein in order to subsequently unlock the central locking system, an instantaneous geoposition (GP) emitted from a portable mobile terminal, is first received by means of a detection device of the central locking apparatus. The emitted instantaneous geoposition (GP) of the portable mobile terminal is subsequently evaluated by means of a control device of the central locking apparatus, wherein when evaluating the instantaneous geoposition (GP), the control device checks whether the emitted instantaneous geoposition (GP) is within a delimited, predetermined region, which is stored in the control device. The central locking system is finally unlocked when the emitted instantaneous geoposition (GP) is within the delimited, predetermined region.
