Embodiments described herein relate to anonymization of parking events such that parking events may be used by location-based service providers without revealing a target associated with the respective parking events. Methods may include: receiving an indication of a parking event; map-matching the parking event to a parking event road segment; identifying candidate road segments, wherein the candidate road segments are connected directly or indirectly to the parking event road segment; selecting a road segment of the candidate road segments; updating the parking event to be an updated parking event associated with the selected road segment; and providing the updated parking event to a location-based service provider.

Control device, getting-into/out facility, control method, and storage medium

A control device includes a getting-into/out facility selection unit configured to select one or more getting-into/out facilities where a vehicle to be parked in a parking lot will stop from among a plurality of getting-into/out facilities on the basis of at least information indicating a driving assistance level at which driving assistance can be executed by the vehicle and information associated with the parking lot having the plurality of getting-into/out facilities and a guidance unit configured to guide the vehicle to the selected getting-into/out facility.

Systems and methods for assisting a physically handicapped individual obtain a ride in an autonomous vehicle

The disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for assisting a physically handicapped individual to obtain a ride in an autonomous vehicle. In one exemplary embodiment, a physically handicapped individual can use a helper application installed in a smartphone to initiate a request for an autonomous vehicle. Upon receiving the request, the helper application determines a first set of location coordinates of the physically handicapped individual and a second set of location coordinates of an autonomous vehicle that is available to provide the ride. The helper application may use the first set and/or the second set of location coordinates to identify a parking spot for the autonomous vehicle. The smartphone then transmits to the autonomous vehicle, a first set of instructions directing the autonomous vehicle to drive to the parking spot, and a second set of instructions to the physically handicapped individual to assist in moving to the parking spot.

VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE

A vehicle parking control device has a processor and a memory to control the vehicle from a starting to a target parking position. The vehicle control device includes an obstacle detection unit detecting obstacles around the vehicle, a travelable area setting unit setting an area where the vehicle can travel based on a position of the obstacles, and sets the target parking position in the travelable area, a route generation unit calculating a travel route to the target parking position in the travelable area, and a parking execution unit that causes the vehicle to travel toward the target parking position on the basis of the travel route. The route generation unit generates a route from a parking start position to the target parking position, and corrects a distance of the section to a predetermined distance when the distance of the section is less than the predetermined distance.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM

An information processing apparatus including a controller configured to perform: obtaining a current location of a user; obtaining a destination of the user; outputting guidance to the destination; obtaining information corresponding to the destination; determining, based on the destination and the current location, that the user has arrived at the destination; and switching from outputting the guidance to the destination to outputting the information corresponding to the destination, when the user has arrived at the destination.

DISTRIBUTION BASE MOBILITY SYSTEM, DISTRIBUTION MANAGING DEVICE, AND DISTRIBUTION MANAGEMENT METHOD

A distribution base mobility system that acquires position information of a distribution base vehicle, position information for a location where the distribution base vehicle is able to park to exchange distribution items between the distribution base vehicle and the moving bodies, and information relating to a distribution request from a user, creates a transit plan including a transit destination and a transit timing of the distribution base vehicle, based on the acquired information, so as to reduce overall loss in a case in which the plurality of moving bodies move to an exchange location for distribution item exchange with the distribution base vehicle in order to pick up distribution items; and notifies the distribution base vehicle of the created transit plan, and notify the moving bodies of position information of the distribution base vehicle based on the acquired information.

PREDICTIVE PARKING DUE TO WEATHER

Aspects of the disclosure provide a parking method and system for a vehicle. For example, the parking system can include a processor and an output circuit. As another example, the parking system can include the processor and a compelling unit. The processor can be configured to determine whether a first weather condition, such as snowing, raining, icing and hailing, at a first parking location meets a first criterion, and identify, when the first weather condition meets the first criterion, a second parking location at which a second weather condition meets a second criterion different from the first criterion. The output unit can be configured to output an alert to the vehicle parked at the first parking location indicating that the vehicle is to be moved to the second parking location. The compelling unit can be configured to compel the vehicle to move to the second parking location.

Methods and systems for generating parking routes

A method of determining a parking route for a vehicle travelling on a road network within a geographic area is disclosed. A sub-network is determined comprising a subset of segments of an electronic map that are representative of roads within a predetermined walking time or distance of a destination location. Data indicative of a walking time or distance from the segment to the destination location is associated, at least with the segments of the sub-network representing roads having at least one associated parking space. A search algorithm having an associated cost function is used to explore the segments of the sub-network from an origin location to identify a plurality of candidate parking routes, wherein the cost for a given parking route is based on the probability of the vehicle successfully finding a parking space on the parking route and the expected cumulative travel and walking time or distance to the destination location should a parking space be found along the parking route.

Method and apparatus for providing an isoline map of a time to park at a destination

An approach is provided for providing an isoline map of a time to park at a destination. A routing platform computes the time to park at a destination of a navigation route, wherein the time to park represents an estimated time that is needed for a vehicle to park within a geographic area surrounding the destination. The routing platform further determines an isoline that delineates a boundary of the geographic area, wherein the isoline indicates an extent of the geographic area in which the time to park applies. The routing platform further provide data to generate a user interface depicting a representation of the isoline in the time to park isoline map.
