The processor is further configured to turn on the second plurality of vibration actuators when the acceleration remains above the threshold acceleration value after the first plurality of vibration actuators are turned on. The processor is configured to transmit an event record to a recording device.
PASSIVE EXOSKELETON FOR SIT-TO-STAND AND STAND-TO-SIT TRANSFER
A wearable passive exoskeleton device for sit-to-stand and/or stand-to-sit transfer includes a leg exoskeleton frame configured to be worn at a user's leg and a lever arm rotatably coupled to the leg exoskeleton frame so as to provide a handle for the user to move between a sitting position and a standing position (or between a kneeling position and a standing position). The lever arm is rotatable with respect to the leg exoskeleton frame between a stowed position and a deployed position. The lever arm may be a unidirectional lever arm configured to rotate only in a first rotational direction with respect to the leg exoskeleton frame such that a pushing or pulling force exerted in a second rotational direction transmits an assisting force to the user to assist in a sit-to-stand and/or stand-to-sit movement.
Automatic foot cleaner and callus remover
An automatic foot cleaner and callus remover is provided. Through the use of multiple flexible cleaning bands configured to scrub the heel and sole of a user's foot, as well as a toe cleaning mechanism, the automatic foot cleaner and callus remover is capable of cleaning the user's foot and removing any calluses on the user's foot. Optionally, the automatic foot cleaner and callus remover is filled with a liquid such as infused water to assist with the cleaning process.
Method and device for enhanced blood flow
A non-invasive method and device for promoting a localized change in a flow of blood through a blood vessel in a limb segment of a body by a series of electrically stimulated contractions of muscle tissue in the limb segment, the method including the steps of: (a) providing a device including: (i) first, second and third electrodes, each adapted to operatively contact the limb segment; (ii) a signal generator, operatively connected to the electrodes, adapted to produce a series of electrical impulses to the limb segment via the electrodes, and (iii) a control unit adapted to control the signal generator to produce the series of electrical impulses; (b) positioning the electrodes on the limb segment, wherein the first electrode is positioned on a lower end of the lower leg, the second electrode is positioned on the lower leg, and the third electrode is positioned on an upper end of the lower leg, whereby the first and third electrodes are disposed on opposite ends of the lower leg, and the second electrode and one of the first and third electrodes are disposed on a same end of the lower leg; (c) effecting a sequence of muscular contractions of the lower leg, by operations including: (i) applying a first electrical impulse between the electrodes on the same end of the lower leg to induce a first muscular contraction of a first portion of the tissue; and (ii) applying at least a second electrical impulse between the first and third electrodes to induce a longitudinal muscular contraction of a second portion of the muscular tissue; and (d) repeating operations (i) and (ii), to repeatedly induce the contractions, to effect the increased flow of blood.
A DEVICE FOR ASSISTING WITH EXTENSION AND/OR FLEXION
A device is provided for manipulating an arm of a user, thereby providing extension or flexion assistance to the arm about an elbow. The device has an arm engagement system, having an upper arm member with an upper arm frame having a pivot end and a distal end, a posterior elbow pad, a forearm member with a forearm frame having a pivot end and a distal end and a distal wrist pad, and a pivoting connection operatively coupled with the pivot end of the upper arm frame and the pivot end of the forearm frame. A force application system having a force applicator is connected between the distal end and the pivot end of the forearm frame. A force application mechanism is connected at or near the distal end of the upper arm frame.
Water encapsulated and mechanical hybrid body massage chair with rapid heating and cooling control
A chair is disclosed for providing water and air adjustable massage. The massage chair includes a surface that is easy to clean, and water-filled rollers within the chair to apply a massaging effect to the body of the user thereon. Each water-filled roller incorporates a foam inner roller that is surrounded by either a cylindrical water-filled wrap or water-filled inserts. The massage chair incorporates a leg section to perform a percussive and vibrating massage on the legs of the user thereon. The massage chair has the ability to recline and to apply heat and/or cooling to the user thereon. The massage chair incorporates auto-sensing controls, massage pattern software, and Cloud Control Software that enables the owner in a commercial environment to establish the time for use, frequency, and price for the massage session.
Dry immersion bed
The dry-immersion bed of the present invention is suitable for intensive care units (ICUs) and fulfills the function of providing treatment for diseases such as capillary leak syndrome. The dry immersion bed fulfills the function of recovering cardiovascular physiology by normalizing the systemic distribution of water, albumin and electrolytes, and improving lymphatic drainage, venous return, cardiac output, cell metabolism and immunity.
