The viewport is offset from the apex. The camera is mounted to capture light exiting the reflective dome through the viewport. And, a plurality of light sources are arranged about the reflective dome such that light output from the plurality of light sources enters the dome.

Measurement Head For A Linearly Overlapping Light Measurement System
20180073919 · 2018-03-15 ·

A linearly-overlapping light measurement system measurement head having one or more linearly-overlapping modular light sources each having individual light sources arranged in a geometric pattern, the light sources being single- or multi-wavelength and programmable to generate light that is transmitted through and/or reflected from a work piece to be detected by linearly-overlapping modular light detectors having individual light detectors arranged in a geometric pattern. The measurement head also has linearly-overlapping modular light detectors arranged in a geometric pattern to receive light emitted by the light sources. A computer controller coordinating the operation of the light source array and light detector array to automatically sense and record the light transmittance and/or reflectance of one or more spectral ranges in real time from the work piece and then adjust the work being performed on the work piece to attain pre-determined standards. Reference feedback circuitry is provided for monitoring the light sources in each light source module. The reference feedback circuitry adjusts the operating parameters of a light source module to ensure that the intensity and the chromatic output of the light therefrom remains at a consistent level.

Miniaturized imaging apparatus for wafer edge

Disclosed are methods and apparatus for imaging a rounded edge of a sample, such as a wafer with a beveled edge. In one embodiment, the system includes a curved diffuser having an internal surface for positioning towards the rounded edge of the sample and an external surface opposite the internal surface and light sources for generating a plurality of illumination beams adjacent to a plurality of positions on the external surface of the diffuser so that the diffuser outputs uniform light onto the rounded edge of the sample at a wide range of incident angles. The system further includes a sensor for receiving light scattered from the rounded edge of the sample in response to the incident light and generating a detected signal for generating an image. These elements are partially or entirely integrated into a compact assembly.

Photon emitter array including photon emitters with different orientations

Provided herein is an apparatus including a photon emitter array. The photon emitter array includes a number of photon emitters selectively oriented in a number of polarized orientations. The photon emitters are configured to controllably emit photons onto a surface of an article. The apparatus also includes a photon detector positioned to receive photons scattered from features on the surface of the article. The photon detector simultaneously receives photons oriented in the number of polarized orientations. In addition, the photon detector provides information for mapping the features on the surface of the article.

Light-emitting table suitable for use in metrology, and coordinate measuring machine having such a light-emitting table

A light-emitting table suitable for use in metrology includes a plurality of light sources and a field to be illuminated. Light-emitting centers of the light sources represent starting points of light source axes which perpendicularly intersect the field to be illuminated. The light-emitting centers of the light sources on one side and the field to be illuminated on the other side delimit an intermediate space in the interior of the light-emitting table. Located between the light source axes within the intermediate space are curved and mirrored surfaces, the focal points or caustics (K) of which are located within the intermediate space between the curved and mirrored surfaces and the field to be illuminated. A coordinate measuring machine for capturing the coordinates of a workpiece includes at least one optical sensor and a light-emitting table for illuminating the workpiece during measurement of the coordinates of the workpiece using the sensor.
