Gait motion assisting device
The gait motion assisting device according to the present invention replicates movement of user's leg including thigh and lower leg around hip joint by pendulum movement of a rod-like rigid body, estimates hip joint angle and hip joint angular velocity of thigh calculated based on equation of motion of the pendulum movement by a state estimator using angle-related signal received from a thigh orientation detecting means as the observation, calculates the thigh phase angle using the estimated hip joint angle and the estimated hip joint angular velocity, and outputs assisting force having torque value calculated based on the thigh phase angle.
Movement-dependent stabilization support system
The present invention relates to a movement-dependent stabilisation support system (100) for stabilising a moving body (200), which comprises a plurality of sensors (110), a plurality of actuators (120) and a control unit (130). The plurality of sensors (110) continuously detects movement parameters of the body (200), on which basis the control unit (130) determines whether there is an instability of the body (200). If it is determined that there is an instability, the control unit (130) selects a stabilisation strategy, according to which the actuators (120) are controlled. When controlled, the actuators (120) attached to the body (200) stiffen and limit the freedom of movement of the body (200), such that a movement in the direction of the imminent unstable state is prevented or suppressed. In this way, the body (200) is supported in its stabilisation and an imminent fall is prevented.
Gastrointestinal treatment system including a vibrating capsule, and method of use thereof
A gastrointestinal treatment system including a gastrointestinal capsule adapted to treat a subject following ingestion of the gastrointestinal capsule. The gastrointestinal capsule includes: (a) a housing; (b) a vibrating agitator, powered by the battery, the vibrating agitator adapted such that, in a first vibrating mode of operation, the housing exerts vibrations on an environment surrounding the capsule; (c) a power supply disposed within the housing and adapted to power the vibrating agitator; and (d) a controller adapted, in response to receipt of an activation input, to activate the vibrating agitator to operate in the first vibrating mode of operation at at least one predetermined time of day. The system and method may be used to treat an ailment of the gastrointestinal tract and/or to mitigate at least one symptom of jetlag in a subject travelling from an origin location to a destination location.
GASTROINTESTINAL TREATMENT SYSTEM INCLUDING A VIBRATING CAPSULE AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
INTEGRATED RESUSCITATION
Apparatuses, systems and methods are provided that may include a system for patient monitoring and defibrillation. The system may include at least two defibrillation electrodes. The system may further include a first unit for physiological monitoring of a patient, including ECG monitoring circuitry for monitoring ECG of the patient. The first unit may store CPR chest compression data. The system may further include a second unit, separate from the first unit, which may communicatively couple with the first unit, for providing defibrillation pulses to the patient. The second unit may include a processor, communicatively coupled with the at least two defibrillation electrodes, for providing defibrillation pulses to the patient via the at least two defibrillation electrodes.
Brace having integrated remote patient monitoring technology and method of using same
A brace configured for attachment to a joint of a subject is provided. The brace includes a first arm having a first end and a second end. The brace includes a second arm having a first end and a second end. The brace includes a hinge assembly coupling the first end of the first arm with the first end of the second arm such that the first arm and the second arm are movable to different relative angular orientations. The brace includes a potentiometer coupled to the hinge assembly. A method of monitoring a relative angular orientation of a first arm of a brace relative to a second arm of the brace is also provided. The method includes monitoring an output of a potentiometer coupled to one of the first arm and the second arm.
Apparatus for the rehabilitation, assistance and/or augmentation of arm strength in a user
An apparatus (10) for the rehabilitation, assistance and/or augmentation of arm strength in a user (U) comprises a support arrangement (12) for supporting the apparatus (10) on the user (U), a linkage arrangement (14) coupled to the support arrangement (12) and for coupling to an arm (A) of the user (U), and an actuation arrangement (16) for operating the linkage arrangement (14) and thereby manipulating the user's arm (A) in response to a user input signal.
MEDICAL VAST AND USING METHOD THEREOF
A medical vast and using method thereof. The medical vest has a clothe capable of surrounding the chest of a user's body, one or more vibration devices located in the clothe respectively and a motion sensor located in the clothe. Hence, when a user wears the medical vest and/or when the user actives one or more vibration devices to apply a net vibration force to the users' chest, the motion sensor may detect the user's real posture and/or both the vibration intensity and/or the vibration frequency of the vibration force applied to the user's chest. Accordingly, the user may adjust the vibration intensity and/or the vibration frequency of one or more vibration devices, also may adjust how the clothe is worn on the user's chest.
