Calibration for wireless localization and detection of vulnerable road users
A method for localization of a vulnerable road user (VRU) includes receiving a received signal strength indication (RSSI) level of a wireless signal of a mobile device carried by the VRU detected by a wireless sensor in an area of interest. The detected RSSI level is compared to RSSI fingerprints stored in a fingerprinting database (DB) so as to identify an RSSI fingerprint having a closest match to the detected RSSI level. The VRU is localized at a position stored in the fingerprinting DB for the identified RSSI fingerprint.
Indoor positioning system
A method of operating an indoor location services system includes providing a calibration beacon signal from a calibration device at a number of calibration locations, measuring a received signal strength of the calibration beacon signal at each one of a number of receivers for each one of the number of calibration locations, measuring a received signal strength of a beacon signal provided by a locatable device at each one of the receivers, and estimating a location of the locatable device based on the received signal strength of the beacon signal at each one of the receivers, the received signal strength of the calibration beacon signal at each one of the receivers for each one of the calibration locations, and a location of each one of the receivers.
POSITIONING BASED ON CALENDAR INFORMATION
A method includes obtaining piece(s) of calendar information indicative of at least one appointment taking place in a space and extracting a set of space identifiers representing space(s) of the venue. The space identifier(s) for one or more spaces are extracted based on an indoor map of the venue. The method also includes determining or triggering determining whether at least a part of the set of space identifiers or one or more spaces of the set of space identifiers match(es) the at least one space as represented by the piece(s) of calendar information; and if a match is found: determining one or more reference location estimates. A respective reference location estimate is indicative of a location of the space that was determined to be a match. A corresponding apparatus, computer program product and system are also provided.
METHOD AND SYSTEM TO ESTIMATE AND LEARN THE LOCATION OF A RADIO DEVICE
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, utilizing a Radio Frequency (RF) fingerprint model for a demarcated area associated with a plurality of anchors. A machine learning process is applied to an RF training set that includes RF characteristics for a plurality of messages and locations determined for one or more mobile devices within the demarcated area. The plurality of messages are wirelessly transmitted as part of radio measurement locating processes to determine the mobile device locations. A first location for the first mobile device can be determined based on the RF fingerprint model according to particular RF characteristics of first messages being received by or received from the first mobile device. Other embodiments are disclosed.
GEOLOCATION SYSTEM
An indoor geolocation system for determining a location in three-dimensional space includes a plurality of base stations and a mobile device movable about an indoor environment in three dimensions. The mobile device detects electromagnetic signals in the indoor environment emitted by devices other than the base stations, and generates a signal profile based on the signals. The mobile device transmits the signal profile to one or more of the base stations, which forward the signal profile to a remote server. The system determines a location of the in three-dimensional space of the mobile device by comparing the signal profile to data regarding signal profiles at a plurality of locations in the indoor environment. The data regarding signal profiles in the indoor environment may have been captured by a detection device other than the mobile device at a time prior to the detection of the electromagnetic signals by the mobile device.
INDOOR OPTIMIZED OFFLINE RADIO MAP
A method includes obtaining or holding available first radio map information representing a first radio map for a first environment. The method also includes determining, at least partially based on said first radio map information, second radio map information representing a second radio map for a second environment. The second radio map contains or represents a respective radio coverage model for each radio device of a group of radio devices. A portion of the second environment at least partially covers the first environment. A density of radio coverage models contained in or represented by said second radio map in the portion of said second environment and at least partially covering the first environment is higher than a density of radio coverage models contained in or represented by the second radio map in a remaining portion of the second environment. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.
Radio map construction method
According to the present invention, a radio map construction method uses a genetic algorithm and comprises the steps of: (a) generating a plurality of chromosomes, each including a set of pairs consisting of a fingerprint labeled with an address and a position selected within a region s of the address; (b) generating a temporary radio map by using the pairs of the chromosomes; (c) arranging collected fingerprint sequences by using the temporary radio map; and (d) evaluating the placement of the fingerprint sequences.
Fingerprint positioning method and system in smart classroom
The disclosure discloses a fingerprint positioning method in a smart classroom, which is specifically: firstly, performing Gaussian filtering and taking the average value on a wireless signal strength value RSSI in the fingerprint database; then finding the neighbor point closest to the signal strength of the to-be-measured point; finally, the Euclidean distance is used as the weight reference, and the weighted center of mass is obtained for the nearest neighbor points. The weight index is introduced as an index of the weight, and the coordinates of the to-be-tested node are obtained. The disclosure has a higher positioning accuracy, smaller positioning error fluctuations and greater environmental adaptability.
FLOOR LEVELS OF A VENUE
A method includes obtaining one or more pieces of metadata information indicative of one or more identifiers of one or more spatial locations located within a venue, and further indicative of one or more floor level identifiers of the one or more spatial locations. The method also generates a map of one or more locations of one or more radio nodes, including altitude information, and their respective one or more pieces of identifying information. The method further includes determining one or more pieces of matching information indicative of whether a respective identifying information of the one or more radio nodes at least partially matches with at least one metadata information and, if so, associating the respective radio node with a respective altitude floor level of the respective piece of metadata information in a radio map of the venue. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.
CONTEXT INFORMATION FROM CROWD-SOURCED DATA
A method is provided that includes obtaining one or more pieces of crowd-sourced information. A respective crowd-sourced information is at least indicative of a location at which the respective crowd-sourced information was gathered. The method determines a set of tiles at least partially based on the one or more geographical areas. For at least one tile, the method obtains one or more pieces of fingerprint information comprised by the one or more pieces of crowd-sourced information that were gathered within the respective area of the respective tile and determines an area type and/or context information indicative of a type of venue located within the respective tile and/or context the respective area of the respective tile is used for. The area type and/or context information is determined at least partially based on the one or more pieces of fingerprint information. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.
