12144783 · 2024-11-19 · ·

Aspects of a dose tracking device configured for use with commercial packages or blister cards of medicaments are disclosed. Disclosed tracking devices track the removal of medicament doses from the blister cards with which they are associated. Certain disclosed aspects concern an electronic tracking module comprising plural voltage sensors electrically coupled to a circuit trace that is applied to a medicament blister card obtained commercially or provided by a health care provider. The circuit trace comprises plural circuits that align with medicament blisters containing a medicament dose. When a dose is dispensed from a blister, a corresponding circuit of the circuit trace is broken, indicating that the dose has been dispensed. Patient dosing information can be conveyed to a remote server for monitoring and data storage.

A system for dispensing doses of medication to a patient includes a reminder/dispenser device and a remote monitoring station. The reminder/dispenser device includes a plurality of medication holding drawers; a plurality of drawer rails mounted between a device housing and the plurality of drawers; and a plurality of electromagnets, each of which is mounted in the housing adjacent to one of the plurality of drawers configured to maintain the drawer in the closed position when the electromagnet is in a first state and to automatically open the drawer when the electromagnet is in a second state. The device also includes a patient input component to allow the patient to confirm that the drawer has been emptied of medication in accordance with a pre-programmed dosing schedule. The remote monitoring station is configured to receive an alert from the device when the patient is not in compliance with the dosing schedule.

Drug Delivery Capsules with external intelligence

A system for administering a medicament includes a plurality of capsules, a capsule dispenser, and a capsule activator. Each of the capsules includes a reservoir containing a medicament and an outlet in communication with the reservoir through which the medicament exits the capsule. The capsule dispenser releasably contains the ingestible capsules and is adapted to dispense the capsules to a user in accordance with a predetermined schedule. The capsule activator activates the dispensed capsules prior to administration to the user.

MEDICATION MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING TECHNOLOGY

Medication management and reporting technology, in which output from at least one sensor configured to sense physical activity in a building in which medication of a patient is located is monitored and a determination is made to capture one or more images of the medication based on the monitoring. A camera is used to capture an image of the medication and the captured image is analyzed to detect a state of the medication. Information regarding a schedule by which the medication should be taken by the patient is accessed and an expected state of the medication is determined. The detected state is compared with the expected state and a determination is made that the patient has departed from the schedule based on the comparison revealing that the detected state does not match the expected state. A message indicating the departure from the schedule is sent based on the determination.

DRUG DISPENSER

Example implementations relate to a drug dispenser. For example, a dispenser may include a processor in communication with a server accessible to a doctor capable of prescribing a drug to a patient and a pharmacist capable of providing the drug to the patient. The processor may receive instructions relating to administration of the drug to the patient. The instructions may specify a timing and an amount of the drug to be administered and an identity of the patient. The dispenser may include a timer to provide a notification based on the timing specified in the instructions and an identifier mechanism to determine an identity of a person attempting to access the drug. The processor may provide the amount of the drug based on the instructions if the identity of the person is the identity of the patient.
