METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE FILL LEVEL OF A FILL SUBSTANCE LOCATED IN A CONTAINER
20200249068 · 2020-08-06 ·

A method for determining the fill level of a fill substance located in a container. The method, which is based on the pulse travel time principle, is distinguished by the fact that extra-range echos can be recognized. For this, the method includes two method portions, in which microwave pulses are transmitted in the direction of the surface of the fill substance with different repetition rates in measuring cycles following one after the other. In each method portion, travel times are ascertained. The fill level is ascertained based on the first travel time and/or based on the second travel time, to the extent that they approximately agree. Otherwise, it is assumed that such echo pulses concern extra-range echos. Thus, by means of the method of the invention, it can be assured for pulse radar-based fill-level measurements that extra-range echos do not result in erroneous fill level values.

Method for measuring a distance

The present invention relates to a method for measuring the distance of targets in the surroundings by way of a time-of-flight measurement of pulses, in particular laser pulses, reflected at said targets, said pulses each being successively emitted at a transmission time in accordance with a predeterminable pulse repetition rate and said pulses, after the reflection thereof, each being received at a reception time, said method comprising the following steps: selecting a first pulse repetition rate from a set of at least two different pulse repetition rates and predetermining the selected pulse repetition rate for the emission, ascertaining a transmission time lying closest in time to the reception time of a reflected pulse and a time interval between these, and, if the ascertained time interval drops below a predetermined first threshold, selecting a second pulse repetition rate from the set and predetermining the second pulse repetition rate for the emission.

An autonomous system with no Customer Network Investment is described, wherein the system is configurable to operate on in a band in addition to the LTE band. Such system allows the definition of hybrid operations to accommodate the positioning reference signals (PRS) of LTE and already existing reference signals. The system can operate with PRS, with other reference signals such as cell-specific reference signals (CRS), or with both signal types. As such, the system provides the advantage of allowing network operator(s) to dynamically choose between modes of operation depending on circumstances, such as network throughput and compatibility. The system further enables information collected at a network device to be processed at a locate server without involving any processing at the network device.

ELECTRONIC WARFARE ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

An electronic warfare asset management system allows for pre-mission planning and ranking of emitter targets within a theater of operations while further allowing real-time adjustments to the emitter rankings. The asset management system may further evaluate and optimize asset architecture to allow multiple assets to work in parallel to increase the probability of intercept for any specific target emitter.

Systems and methods for determining user equipment (UE) locations within a wireless network using reference signals of the wireless network are described. The disclosed systems and methods utilize a plurality of in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) samples generated from signals provided by receive channels associated with two or more antennas of the wireless system. Based on received reference signal parameters the reference signal within the signals from each receive channel among the receive channels is identified. Based on the identified reference signal from each receive channel, an angle of arrival between a baseline of the two or more antennas and incident energy from the UE to the two or more antennas is determined. That angle of arrival is then used to calculate the location of the UE. The angle of arrival may be a horizontal angle of arrival and/or a vertical angle of arrival
