Medication Dispensing Device
A medication storage and dispensing device having a biometric sensor to restrict access to the medication stored within. The device is locked to prevent access and includes tamper resistance features to prevent unauthorized access to the medication stored within. The device has wireless connection features that allow monitoring by medical professionals.
Medication management portal device, system and methods
The present disclosure relates to a medication management portal device, and techniques for managing a person's healthcare needs using the disclosed medication management portal device.
Networked notification for dispensable units
A system enables management of dispensable units by supporting functions such as retrieval, scheduled distribution, analysis, and notifications. To this end, a dispensable retrieval mechanism may be programmed to carry out blind retrievals of dispensable units using a retrieval strategy with a predetermined sequence of retrieval attempts (e.g., fixed or varying two-dimensional retrieval patterns), which may be open loop or closed loop. Techniques may also include the identification of dispensable units through optical sensors and weight measurement devices that can detect, e.g., a texture, a shape, and a size of dispensable units. Such identification can be used to program retrieval attempts by a retrieval robot and in the formulation of the retrieval pattern. Additionally, networked notification systems for dispensable units can be used for updating rules or schedules related to the dispensable units, or alerting users and remote resources of any potential misuse or hazards of the dispensable units.
Medicament information system and method
Various exemplary embodiments relate to a method, device, and storage medium including one or more of the following: receiving location information and expiration information; determining a current location of the mobile device; determining that the medicament device is within a predetermined distance from the mobile device; determining that the medicament device is currently associated with an expiration event; outputting an expiration alarm indicating the expiration event in response to determining that the medicament device is within a predetermined distance from the mobile device and that the medicament device is currently associated with an expiration event; receiving, from the user, a request to display a map of a geographic area; displaying, by the mobile device and via a non-operating system application, the map of the geographic area; and displaying an alert icon on the map, wherein the location of the icon on the map is based on the received location information.
MEDICATION REMINDER SYSTEM AND METHOD, A CONTROL APPARATUS, AND A COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT
A medication reminder system, comprising a control device operable to receive data representing a dosage regime for the medication for use with an electronic tag, the tag communicatively coupled to a display device to be placed on or in association with an item containing the medication, the tag including a transceiver operable to send and receive data to and from the control device, wherein the display device is operable to display an indicator representing the dosage regime or a parameter associated with the dosage regime.
REUSABLE WATERTIGHT MEDICINE CAP FOR DETECTING AND RECORDING OPENINGS AND CLOSINGS
A reusable water-tight medicine cap for detecting and recording openings and closings. The cap has sealing means for engaging a rim of a bottle opening. Detection means is configured to detect the presence or absence of the bottle opening within the cap, while electronic circuitry may be included to control operations of the cap. There may be included compliance means for motivating the user to comply with medication instructions.
INTELLIGENT PILL DISPENSING DEVICE
Techniques are provided for intelligent and secure dispensing of medication to a patient. A methodology implementing the techniques according to an embodiment includes receiving a pill vial into a receptacle of a base unit of a pill dispensing device. The method also includes engaging a locking mechanism to secure the pill vial in the base unit until a release condition is satisfied. The method further includes scanning a label on the pill vial to record a prescription identifier and a dosage schedule, and to register the prescription for usage tracking. The method further includes monitoring patient usage of the prescription based on a count of removals of the pill vial from the receptacle and a timing of the removals and alerting the patient of a missed dose based on the dosage schedule and on detection of an elapsed time since a previous removal of the pill vial from the receptacle.
Devices, systems, and methods for adherence monitoring and devices, systems, and methods for monitoring use of consumable dispensers
Devices, systems, and methods are provided for adherence monitoring, and devices, systems, and methods are provided for monitoring use of consumable dispensers. In general, the devices, systems, and methods can facilitate an individual's adherence to a schedule for consuming consumables and can facilitate monitoring and tracking of the individual's adherence to the schedule. The devices, systems, and methods can allow data regarding the individual's historical adherence to the schedule to be accessible via a computer system. In one embodiment, an accessory is provided that can be configured to attach to consumable dispensers. The accessory can be configured to be removably and replaceably coupled to the dispenser. The accessory can be configured to provide a notification to a user indicating that a certain event occurred and/or that a certain action needs to be taken. The accessory can be configured to sense attachment thereof to and removal thereof from the dispenser.
Automated Medication Adherence System
An automated medication adherence system. The automated medication adherence system may comprise: a housing, an electronic interface, a plurality of reservoirs, one or more sensors, and at least one pill delivery and lock-out module. The electronic interface is programmable to accept data relating to a medication, including at least one of a pill identify, a user identity, a dosage schedule, and a side effect. The electronic interface actuates rotation of a reservoir, which is configured to receive, store, and dispense pills, tablets, and capsules of various sizes accurately and precisely. The sensors monitor medication input and output, and alerts a user when medication has been dispensed and needs to be taken.
Providing a reminder to a user that has an impact on the user
A system for providing a reminder to a user is provided that comprises a reminder datastore arranged to store reminder information relating to a task for the user to be reminded about, and a reminder processor arranged to determine a time at which the reminder is due, based on the reminder information. A locating mechanism is provided to obtain information relating to a location of the user, and an output mechanism is provided to output reminder alerts through one or more reminder devices. The reminder processor is arranged to obtain information relating to a location of the user for the time at which the reminder is due, from the locating mechanism, and to identify one of the one or more reminder devices in proximity to said location of the user, based on known locations of the one or more reminder devices. The output mechanism is arranged to output a reminder alert through the identified reminder device.
