Maskless photolithography devices, methods, and systems
A device (100) includes a light source (130) and a light guide (110). The light source (130) is configured to emit photoresist-curative electromagnetic radiation. The light guide (110) is arranged to receive the photoresist-curative electromagnetic radiation from the light source (130) and to guide the received radiation by total internal reflection, the light guide (110) including a pattern of emission points (210) on at least one surface of the light guide (110), the emission points (210) emitting the photoresist-curative electromagnetic radiation out of the light guide (110) by frustration of total internal reflection caused by the emission points (210).
TALBOT PATTERN ILLUMINATOR AND DISPLAY BASED THEREON
An illuminator for a display panel includes a light source for providing a light beam and a lightguide coupled to the light source for receiving and propagating the light beam along the substrate. The lightguide includes an array of out-coupling gratings that runs parallel to the array of pixels for out-coupling portions of the light beam from the lightguide such that the out-coupled light beam portions propagate through the substrate and produce an array of optical power density peaks at the array of pixels due to Talbot effect. A period of the array of peaks is an integer multiple of a pitch of the array of pixels.
Collimated backlight, electronic display, and method employing an absorption collimator
A collimated backlight and an electronic display employ a light guide having angle-preserving scattering feature and an absorption collimator. The angle-preserving scattering feature is configured to scatter a portion of guided light out of the light guide as emitted light. The absorption collimator includes an absorption element and is configured to convert light provided by a light source into collimated light to be guided as the guided light. The electronic display includes an array of light valves and may be configured as a multiview display or a privacy display.
LIGHT GUIDE MEMBER
A light guide member includes an incident portion, an emission portion, a reflection portion, and an inclined portion. An internal reflection angle inside the reflection portion and the emission portion is larger than an incident angle of an external light with respect to a first normal line that is a normal line of the emission portion. A first inclination angle that is an inclination angle of the incident portion with respect to the first normal line is smaller than the internal reflection angle. A height from the emission portion to a second side of the incident portion is larger than a distance between the emission portion and the reflection portion. A second inclination angle that is an inclination angle of the inclined portion with respect to the first normal line is smaller than the internal reflection angle.
DISPLAY MODULE, BACKLIGHT MODULE AND HIGH-GAIN LIGHT GUIDE PLATE
A light guide plate has a light-incident end and a bottom surface. The bottom surface has a near-light source region and a visible region. The near-light source region is closer to the light-incident end than the visible region. The near-light source region includes a plurality of first microstructures, and at least part of the first microstructures is recessed on the bottom surface and has an inner concave surface. The inner concave surface has a plurality of annular structures concave or convex with respect to the inner concave surface. The annular structures are distributed at interval on the inner concave surface along a concave direction of the first microstructure.
METHOD OF MAKING SUSPENDED LIGHTING FIXTURES USING OPTICAL WAVEGUIDES
A method of making suspended lighting fixtures that includes the use of flexible sheets of optically transmissive material, LED strips, and a linear heat-dissipating structure. The method comprises providing a first flexible sheet having a first major surface, an opposing second major surface, and a first edge having a first light input surface. A pair of flexible sheets of an optically transmissive material are provided, each having an edge with a light input surface. A first LED strip and a second LED strip are provided along with a linear heat-dissipating structure having a first channel and a second channel. The LED strips are positioned within the respective channels and attached to the body of the linear heat-dissipating structure. The edges of the flexible sheets are positioned within the respective channels and in proximity to the respective LED strips. The flexible sheets may be bent to a curved shape.
Illumination devices including multiple light emitting elements
A variety of illumination devices are disclosed that are configured to manipulate light provided by one or more light-emitting elements (LEEs). In general, embodiments of the illumination devices feature one or more optical couplers that redirect illumination from the LEEs to a reflector which then directs the light into a range of angles. In some embodiments, the illumination device includes a second reflector that reflects at least some of the light from the first reflector. In certain embodiments, the illumination device includes a light guide that guides light from the collector to the first reflector. The components of the illumination device can be configured to provide illumination devices that can provide a variety of intensity distributions. Such illumination devices can be configured to provide light for particular lighting applications, including office lighting, task lighting, cabinet lighting, garage lighting, wall wash, stack lighting, and downlighting.
Light-emitting module
A light-emitting module includes a light guide plate including a first surface, and a second surface opposite to the first surface; a light-emitting device disposed at a second surface side of the light guide plate; a first light-reflective member provided at a periphery of the light-emitting device at the second surface side; and a second light-reflective member provided outward of the first light-reflective member at the second surface. A diffuse reflectance of the first light-reflective member for light emitted by the light-emitting device is greater than a diffuse reflectance of the second light-reflective member for the light emitted by the light-emitting device.
Display Device
A display device includes a display panel configured to display an image, a first backlight unit that is disposed under the display panel and outputs first light, and a second backlight unit that is positioned between the display panel and the first backlight unit and outputs second light, wherein the first backlight unit includes a first light guide plate having first patterns protruding or recessed from a rear surface of the first light guide plate, the second backlight unit includes a second light guide plate having second patterns protruding from a rear surface of the second light guide plate, and the second patterns have an asymmetric pyramid shape.
OPTICAL DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING LIGHT FROM AN EXTERNAL LIGHT SOURCE
An optical device for controlling light from an external light source including: at least a first and a second waveguide for guiding a light beam emitted from the external light source; and at least a first beam shaping structure with a first light emitting area for emitting a light beam and a second beam shaping structure with a second light emitting area for emitting a light beam, wherein the first waveguide guides the light beam emitted from the external light source to the first beam shaping structure and the second waveguide guides the light beam emitted from the external light source to the second beam shaping structure; wherein the first and the second beam shaping structure-are each configured such that the uniformity of the radiant density profile of a light beam emitted from the respective light emitting area of the respective beam shaping structure is higher than that of the light beam guided to the respective beam shaping structure by the respective waveguide. Backlight unit including such an optical device; and optical system, in particular holographic display, including such a backlight unit and a spatial light modulator.
