Disclosed herein are methods for patterning two-dimensional atomic layer materials, the methods comprising: illuminating a first location of an optothermal substrate with electromagnetic radiation, wherein the optothermal substrate converts at least a portion of the electromagnetic radiation into thermal energy, and wherein the optothermal substrate is in thermal contact with a two-dimensional atomic layer material; thereby: generating an ablation region at a location of the two-dimensional atomic layer material proximate to the first location of the optothermal substrate, wherein at least a portion of the ablation region has a temperature sufficient to ablate at least a portion of the two-dimensional atomic layer material within the ablation region, thereby patterning the two-dimensional atomic layer material. Also disclosed herein are systems for performing the methods described herein, patterned two-dimensional atomic layer materials made by the methods described herein and methods of use thereof.

The invention relates to a laser-ablatable mask film for the exposing of relief printing plates and screen printing stencils, comprising at least (i) a dimensionally stable base sheet, (ii) a UV-transparent adhesion layer, and (iii) a laser-ablatable mask layer, characterized in that the laser-ablatable mask layer (iii) comprises a) a binder comprising a crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol, b) a material which absorbs UV/VIS light and IR light, and c) optionally an inorganic filler.

An ablation layer for a photosensitive resin for a relief printing plate, the ablation layer containing at least an acid-modified polymer and an infrared-absorbing agent and having a layer acid value as defined below of 2 mg KOH/g or more and 400 mg KOH/g or less, and a neutralized salt ratio as defined below of 0.9 or less:
Layer acid value=(Acid value of the acid-modified polymer)×(Mass ratio of the acid-modified polymer to an entire ablation layer); and
Neutralized salt ratio=(Number of moles of polymer wherein acid in the acid-modified polymer exists in neutralized salt state)/(Total number of moles of the acid-modified polymer).

A photosensitive CTP flexographic printing original plate, characterized in that, it comprise at least a support, a photosensitive resin layer and a heat-sensitive mask layer which are sequentially layered, that the heat-sensitive mask layer contains a methoxymethylated polys side resin (A) and a water-soluble polyamide resin (B) containing a basic nitrogen atom in a molecule, and that a glass transition point of the polyimide resin (A) is 0° C. to 30° C.

Systems and methods for making a flexo plate, and plates, machines, readers, and computer readable media for use therewith. In the system, a plurality of processing machines, each configured to perform one or more process steps in a workflow, includes a controller, a variable operating parameter controlled by the controller, and a reader configured to read machine-readable indicia on the flexo plate. The machine-readable indicia (e.g. bar code, RFID tag, text) is configured for persistent readability downstream of washing (and cutting) steps, without printing in the printing step. The indicia may embody information including at least a plate identifier and instructions corresponding to the at least one variable operating parameter for each of the processing machines or information corresponding to an address in computer storage where the information resides.
