Toner agitator support

A toner container according to one example embodiment includes a housing having a reservoir for storing toner. A rotatable developer roll is mounted on the housing. A doctor blade has a distal end in contact with the outer surface of the developer roll along a length of the developer roll for metering toner on the outer surface of the developer roll. The doctor blade has a proximate end positioned against a portion of the housing. A toner agitator in the reservoir has a shaft. A support in the reservoir is positioned in close proximity to the shaft to limit bending of the shaft. A first end of the support contacts an inner surface of the portion of the housing that the proximate end of the doctor blade is positioned against. The support stiffens the portion of the housing that the proximate end of the doctor blade is positioned against.

PROCESS CARTRIDGE

A process cartridge includes a photosensitive member and a developing unit. The developing unit includes a frame to store toner, a developing roller to carry the toner, a side seal to contact an end portion of the developing roller and prevent the toner from leaking out, and a sealing sheet to contact a center portion of the developing roller and prevent the toner from leaking out. A toner receiving portion of the frame includes an opening facing the developing roller and is disposed on an upstream side of the side seal and a downstream side of a contact portion where the developing roller contacts the photosensitive member, and moreover is disposed at a position overlapping with the side seal. The developing unit includes a blocking member to block at least a part of the opening, and the blocking member is disposed between the opening and the developing roller.

DEVELOPING DEVICE

A developing device includes a developing member to carry developer stored by a developing frame, and a regulating blade having a support plate fixed to the developing frame, a plate-like member, and a regulating member. One end portion of the plate-like member is opposed to the developing member, and the other end portion is welded to the support plate. The regulating member is fixed to a plate-like member surface, and contacts the developing member to regulate a developer thickness on a developing surface. The regulating member is provided with a recessed portion recessed at a regulating member end portion. The regulating member end portion is lower than a regulating member central portion. A plate-like member region welded to the support plate is located at the plate-like member other end portion and overlaps the regulating member central portion and the regulating member end portion at which the recessed portion is provided.

IMAGE-FORMING APPARATUS THAT PREVENTS ATTACHMENT OF TONER CARTRIDGE TO DRAWER WITHOUT MOUNTING OF PROCESS CARTRIDGE ON THE DRAWER

An image-forming apparatus includes: a main casing; a drawer movable in a first direction relative to the main casing; a process cartridge detachably mountable on the drawer; and a toner cartridge. The drawer includes a first drawer side plate and a second drawer side plate spaced apart from each other in a second direction crossing the first direction. The process cartridge includes: a photosensitive drum rotatable about an axis extending in the second direction when the process cartridge is mounted on the drawer; and a developing device for supplying toner to the photosensitive drum. When the process cartridge is mounted on the drawer and the toner cartridge is attached to the process cartridge, the toner cartridge has a length in the second direction greater than a distance in the second direction between the first drawer side plate and the second drawer side plate.

Method of remanufacturing a toner cartridge

A method of remanufacturing a toner cartridge includes installing a modified end cap in which a portion of a drive assembly for an internal toner seal removal mechanism has been disabled. With the modified end cap installed, the toner cartridge may be post tested without removing the internal toner seal. When the post test is complete the modified end cap is removed and a non-modified end cap with a functional drive assembly is installed in its place.

Development cartridge with developer inlet for refilling developer and cap sealing developer inlet

A development cartridge includes a developer housing to receive a developer. The developer housing includes a developing chamber to have a developing roller in the developing chamber and extending in a longitudinal direction of the developing roller, an agitating chamber located parallel to the developing chamber, and a partition wall to separate the developing chamber from the agitating chamber, the partition wall having a first communication hole and a second communication hole respectively formed at both end portions of the partition wall in the longitudinal direction, through which the developing chamber and the agitating chamber are to communicate through. A developer inlet, through which the developer is injectable into the developer housing, for the developer housing to receive the developer, is formed in the developer housing at a position corresponding to the first communication hole or the second communication hole. The developer inlet is closeable with a cap.

Process cartridge, developing apparatus, and image forming apparatus

A process cartridge includes a first unit including an image bearing member to bear a developing agent image, a second unit including a development frame member in which a developing agent bearing member to bear a developing agent to be supplied to the image bearing member is supported, and a coupling portion that can couple the first and second units such that the second unit is swingable with the coupling portion as a rotation center. The development frame member includes a replenishing opening for the developing agent, and an elastically-deformable sealing member that seals the supply portion and the replenishing opening. As viewed along a compression direction of the sealing member, in a section orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the process cartridge, the rotation center is disposed at a position overlapping with the sealing member.

FIBROUS SEAL FOR A PRINT PARTICLE VESSEL

Examples of a print particle transfer device are described herein. Some examples of the print particle transfer device include a print particle vessel to contain print particles. In some examples, the print particle transfer device also includes a plunger with a fibrous seal element to engage an inside surface of the print particle vessel. The fibrous seal element seals an interface between the plunger and the inside surface of the print particle vessel to prevent escape of the print particles at the interface during movement of the plunger within the print particle vessel.
