An image forming apparatus includes a mounting portion for mounting a process cartridge, the process cartridge including a first unit having an image bearing drum, and a second unit having a developing roller, the second unit being movable between a contact position in which the roller contacts the drum and a spaced position in which they are mutually spaced; an engageable member engageable with a force receiving portion provided on the second unit; wherein the engageable member is movable between a first position for maintaining the second unit in the spaced position by engaging with the force receiving portion, a second position for permitting movement of the second unit from the spaced position to the contact position; and a third position for permitting the process cartridge to be mounted, by being pressed by the process cartridge to retract, when the process cartridge is mounted to the mounting portion.
PROCESS CARTRIDGE AND DEVELOPING CARTRIDGE
A cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member unit including a photosensitive drum; a sheet configured to remove a deposited matter from a surface of the drum, the sheet being in contact with the surface of the drum at an end portion of the drum with respect to a rotational axis direction of the member; and a developing unit detachably mounted to the member unit, the developing unit including a developing roller configured to supply toner to the drum, and a storage portion configured to store the deposited matter removed from the surface of the drum by the sheet.
DEVELOPING DEVICE, PROCESS CARTRIDGE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A developing device includes a developing unit, swingably supported, for supplying a developer to an image bearing member, and including an inwardly extending wall portion. In an attitude during use, when against an urging force of an urging member configured to urge the developing unit in a first direction toward the image bearing member, the developing unit is moved in a second direction opposite to the first direction, the inwardly extending wall portion is contactable to a restricting member for restricting an amount of movement of the developing unit in the second direction.
CARTRIDGE, PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A technique enabling downsizing of an image forming apparatus is provided. A cleaning unit 13 attachable to and detachable from an apparatus main body of an image forming apparatus 100 that forms an image on a recording material 12 is provided, with this cleaning unit 13 including: a photosensitive drum 1; and a cleaning frame body 14 that supports the photosensitive drum 1 and that includes an opening 14c through which laser light 3c for exposing the photosensitive drum 1 can pass, wherein the opening 14c is configured such that a width of the opening 14c in a scanning direction in an irradiation range of the light for exposing the photosensitive drum 1 becomes greater toward a side of the photosensitive drum 1 from a side of a light source of light for exposing the photosensitive drum 1.
POWDER CONTAINER, PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A powder container is detachably attached to an image forming apparatus or a removable component in the image forming apparatus. The powder container includes an operation device and a rotation portion to rotate with operation of the operation device. The rotation portion is configured to contact a wall of the image forming apparatus or the removable component in a state in which the rotation portion maintains a posture in a direction of attachment of the powder container to the image forming apparatus or the removable component and is rotatable together with an engagement portion, which is opposed to the wall, of the image forming apparatus or the removable component while engaging the engagement portion, without hindering the powder container from moving in the direction of attachment, to restrain the powder container from moving in a direction of detachment from the image forming apparatus or the removable component.
Process cartridge and image forming apparatus
A process cartridge is detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The cartridge includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum, a developing roller, a drum unit containing the drum, a developing unit containing the roller and being movable so the roller contacts and is spaced from the drum, and a first force receiver receiving a force from a main-assembly first force applier by movement of a door from open to closed positions when mounting the cartridge and a second force receiver movable from a stand-by position by movement of the first force receiver by a force received from the first force applier. The second force receiver takes a projected position receiving a force from the second force applier to move the developing unit so the roller moves out of contact with the drum, the projected position being higher than the stand-by position.
Separation holding member, cartridge unit, and packaging body
The separation holding member 36 includes a grip portion 36h for detaching the separation holding member 36 from the cartridge B, the grip portion 36h being configured so as to assume a first shape of protruding in a direction of separation from a surface of the cartridge B when the cartridge B mounted with the separation holding member 36 is detached from the apparatus main body A and to assume a second shape in which a gap with the surface of the cartridge B is smaller than in the first shape when the cartridge B mounted with the separation holding member 36 is mounted to the apparatus main body A.
Image forming apparatus including a movable engageable member and process cartridge including a force receiving portion
