Dissolvable solid article containing anti-bacterial actives
Disclosed is a dissolvable solid article, comprising by weight of the article: from about 10% to about 50% of a water soluble polymer; from about 20% to about 80% of a surfactant; from about 0.5% to about 2% of diaminocarboxylic acid chelants and salts thereof having an average molecular weight in acid form of from about 250 to about 450 daltons and having a weighted log P value at pH 4 of from about −12 to about −7; from about 0.1% to about 6% of an aromatic carboxylic acid and salts thereof having an average molecular weight in acid form of from about 100 to about 400 daltons and having a weighted log P value at pH 4 of from about −2 to about 4; from about 0.1% to about 18% of an non-aromatic organic alpha hydroxy acid and salts thereof; wherein the dissolvable solid article has a pH of from about 3 to about 5.1 when dissolved with 30 parts water to 1 part of the dissolvable solid article. The present invention provides dissolvable solid articles which provide anti-bacterial benefit even after dissolution of the articles, while controlling the concentration of anti-bacterial active ingredients in the solid articles.

The microneedle particles may be dispersed in a liquid medium to form a composition. A biological tissue may be contacted with the microneedle particles to pre-treat the biological tissue, and a substance of interest may be applied to the pre-treated biological tissue.

The present invention provides a tooth whitening oral care composition comprising: (i) a dye having a blue to blue-violet color with a hue angle in the CIELAB system ranging from 200 to 320 degrees; (ii) core shell silica particles, wherein each core shell silica particle comprises a silica core, and a surface of the silica core is etched with metal silicate; (iii) an orally acceptable carrier vehicle comprising a non-aqueous solvent; and wherein the composition comprises water in an amount of from 3 weight % to 30 weight %.

Oral care compositions and methods for reducing dental sensitivity or at least partially occluding dentin tubules of teeth in a subject are described herein. The oral care compositions may include an orally acceptable vehicle and a silica blocking agent configured to at least partially occlude dentin tubules of teeth. The silica blocking agents may include silica particles having a particle size distribution (D95) less than or equal to 7 μm and a BET surface area of greater than or equal to 150 m.sup.2/g.

The present invention relates to a multilayer UV filter particle, comprising: an odd number of alternating layers of high and low refractive index materials, wherein each layer has a refractive index that differs from that of adjacent layers by at least 0.2, the total number of layers is at least 9, and the particle does not contain a substrate. The particle according to the present invention can have a good UV filtering effect.
