Bio-active material composite, preparing method thereof and cosmetic composition containing the same
Provided is a composite containing bio-active material stably combined with a rare-earth hydroxide compound having a layered structure. The bio-active materials in the composite are preserved in terms of long-term stability at high temperature of 50 C. or above and the composite maintained in the neutral pH condition to minimize side effects like latent toxicity, irritations, etc. Further, the present invention is useful for a skin-whitening, anti-wrinkle, or anti-aging cosmetic composition containing the composite.
COMPOSITION WITH LUMINOUS SATIN EFFECT COMPRISING PARTICLES OF CELLULOSE, OF BORON NITRIDE AND OF SATIN NACRES
The present invention relates to a composition, in particular comprising a physiologically acceptable medium, in particular for coating keratin materials, more particularly for caring for and/or making up keratin materials, which is a cosmetic composition for making up and/or caring for keratin materials, in particular the skin and/or the lips, comprising: a) cellulose particles; and b) boron nitride particles; and c) nacre particles having a mean size of less than 20.0 m. The invention also relates to a process for cosmetic treatment of keratin materials, more particularly for caring for and/or making up keratin materials, such as the skin, characterized in that it comprises the application to the keratin materials of a composition as defined previously.

The invention relates to a surface-modified effect pigment comprising particular additives and to the production thereof. The present invention further provides a nail varnish composition comprising a) at least one effect pigment that has been surface-modified with a starting material (additive), where the effect pigment comprises a substrate in platelet form and optionally at least one coating applied to the substrate, b) at least one hydrocarbon resin as binder, and c) at least one solvent or solvent mixture, where the starting material (additive) for surface modification of the effect pigment is at least one compound taken from the group consisting of phosphoric ester-containing, phosphonic ester-containing, phosphonic acid-containing, fatty acid-containing and/or silane-containing compounds or mixtures thereof.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING ZINC OXIDE PLATELETS WITH CONTROLLED SIZE AND MORPHOLOGY
A method for producing polygonic Zn oxide platelets having a median specific surface area of more than 25 square meters per gram, in controlled size and morphology, the method comprising: preparing a medium including Zn or its compounds at a concentration within the range between 1.55 and 7.75 moles of Zn/L, in a medium suitable to substitute Zn ions by releasing free protons thereby forming a complex structure including Zn; agitation of the medium in a vessel at a temperature within the range between 50 and 320 for a duration up to 10 hours to obtain a suspension; filtering the suspension to obtain a filtrate including solid particles; drying and then calcination of the dried filtrate; wherein the agitation is performed with one or more radial flow impellers so that the Reynolds' number in the vessel is higher than 2500 and lower than 10000.
Nail Varnish Composition Containing Embossed Effect Pigments and Surface-Modified Embossed Effect Pigments
The invention relates to a nail varnish composition comprising: a) an embossed effect pigment comprising a metallic substrate in platelet form with embossed structure having a periodic pattern with diffractive elements, said substrate having been produced by PVD methods, and optionally at least one coating applied to the substrate, wherein the substrate has an elemental metal content of 80% to 100% by weight, based on the substrate, and wherein the effect pigment has been treated with a leafing additive for surface modification, b) at least one hydrocarbon resin as binder, c) at least one solvent or solvent mixture and d) optionally further auxiliaries.
The invention further relates to a process for producing the nail varnish composition.
COSMETIC
The invention provides a cosmetic having strong resistance to contact with water, clothing, fingers, and abrasion with little decline (post-contact) in the cosmetic effects such as UV blocking protection as well as excellent feel on use. The cosmetic contains: (A) plate-shaped powder, (B) 6-40% by mass UV absorber, and (C) cationic surfactant.

The present invention concerns a material, based on fibrillar, elongated, or disk-like colloidal particles, that has a high scattering efficiency, a method that is suitable for preparing such a material, and the use of such a material. The material can be used as, or as a part of, a pigment, paint or protective coating in various industries, but due to its high scattering, and due to the fact that the material appears white even as a thin membrane, it is an interesting option also in the paper and pulp, cosmetic and medical industries.
