Solid cosmetic composition in pressed powder form
The present invention relates to a solid cosmetic composition in the form of a preferably pressed powder, comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium, at least: an oily phase greater than or equal to 20% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition, a pulverulent phase greater than or equal to 40% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition, comprising at least one spherical filler and at least one lamellar filler, the spherical filler(s) and the lamellar filler(s) being present in a respective total weight content such that the weight ratio of the spherical filler(s) to the lamellar filler(s) is greater than or equal to 0.01 and preferably between 0.02 and 15. The present invention also relates to a product obtained by means of a particular process, to a process for manufacturing a cosmetic composition, and to a process for coating the face with said cosmetic composition.

Methods of increasing sIgA and mucin 5B levels in an individual's oral cavity are disclosed. The methods comprise applying to the individual's oral cavity in an amount effective to increase sIgA and mucin 5B levels in the individual's oral cavity, an oral care composition comprising: zinc phosphate, stannous fluoride and optionally, an organic acid buffer system.
SHAMPOO COMPOSITION COMPRISING SHEET-LIKE MICROCAPSULES
Shampoo compositions having an anionic surfactant, cationic deposition polymer, sheet-like microcapsules and an aqueous carrier. The shampoo composition delivers both good in use benefits, while maintaining a consumer desirable appearance. The sheet-like microcapsules can also contain perfumes, extracts, dyes, colorants, and/or benefit agents.
Optically diffusing particles
A soft-focus composition comprises particles. The particles comprise a substrate with a metal oxide coating. The metal oxide coating covers from about 50% to about 75% of the surface area of the substrate. The particles have a span of from about 0.1 to about 2.1. From about 50% to about 75% of the particles are platelet shaped and the remainder are at least one different shape. This soft-focus composition can be used in cosmetic and personal care formulations to impart a soft-focus effect on the skin to hide fine lines and blemishes while allowing the natural glow of the skin to shine through.
Pigment powders
Disclosed are pigment powders containing only coated BiOCl flakes, which flakes area) BiOCl flakes having a coating containing yellow iron oxide Fe.sub.2O.sub.3*xH.sub.2O, optionally a colorant, optionally an adjuvant, and optionally SiO.sub.2, b) BiOCl flakes having a coating containing SiO.sub.2, optionally a colorant, and optionally an adjuvant, c) BiOCl flakes having a coating containing a colorant, SiO.sub.2, optionally yellow iron oxide Fe.sub.2O.sub.3*xH.sub.2O, and optionally an adjuvant, or d) BiOCl flakes having a coating containing Fe.sub.3O.sub.4 and optionally SiO.sub.2, to a process for the preparation of the pigment powders, and to the use thereof especially in cosmetic formulations.

The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising: a) at least one UV filter; b) at least one composite particle in spherical form, having a mean size of between 0.1 and 30 m comprising at least one particulate UV-screening agent and a core constituted of at least one inorganic material and/or of at least one organic material; c) at least one anti-oxidation active ingredient chosen from I) a compound according to formula (I) wherein each X independently represents OPO.sub.3Y, wherein Y is selected from hydrogen, Li, Na and K; II) a dimer peptide according to formula (II); III) a tocopherol or its derivatives; and IV) a mixture thereof. ##STR00001##
UV-PROTECTIVE COMPOSITIONS
Disclosed are UV-protective compositions comprising swelled polymer matrix macroparticles comprising a thermoplastic polymer swelled with at least one swelling agent, and a plurality of nanoparticles of an inorganic UV-protective agent comprising at least one solid inorganic crystal and a dispersant associated with the crystal, wherein the inorganic nanoparticles are dispersed and embedded in the swelled polymer matrix macroparticles. Method of preparation and uses of such compositions are also provided.
Pigment mixtures
Disclosed are pigment mixtures containing at least two components, where component A contains bismuth oxychloride (BiOCl) or boron nitride (BN) and component B contains synthetic flakes treated with at least one metal soap or mineral flakes treated with at least one metal soap and to the use thereof especially in cosmetic formulations.
COSMETIC COMPOSITION WITH UNIVERSAL OPTICAL CORRECTION
The present invention relates in particular to a cosmetic composition for the care and/or make-up of keratinous materials, in particular the skin, comprising an aqueous phase and at least one combination with optical correction effect adapted to all skin complexions comprising at least one soft-focus effect filler, at least one composite pigment, and at least one reflective particle.
INORGANIC EFFECT PIGMENTS
An inorganic, non-quarter wave, heterogeneous multilayer effect pigment includes a platy substrate comprising an absorbing optically active metal oxide layer thereon, having an optical thickness from about 20 nm to about 400 nm; a layer of low refractive index material on the absorbing optically active metal oxide layer and having an optical thickness from about 10 nm to about 500 nm; and an outermost optically active layer of a non-absorbing high refractive index material on the low refractive index material and having an optical thickness from about 50 nm to about 1000 nm. The multilayer effect pigment exhibits a blue reflectance ratio (BRR) of at least 3, according to the equation: BRR=(Blue Max)/(Green Min); where Blue Max is the maximum reflectance exhibited over wavelengths 380 nm to 450 nm; and Green Min is the minimum reflectance exhibited over wavelengths 450 nm to 600 nm.
