The invention relates to a dispersion of polymer particles stabilized with a stabilizer in a nonaqueous medium containing at least one hydrocarbon-based oil, the polymer of the particles being a C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl (meth)acrylate polymer; the stabilizer being a C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl (meth)acrylate polymer and optionally of a silicone macromonomer (I): the stabilizer being a polymer comprising from 50% to 100% by weight, relative to the total weight of the stabilizer, of C.sub.8-C.sub.22 alkyl acrylate, from 0 to 50% by weight of C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl (meth)acrylate and optionally silicone macromonomer (I).

The invention also relates to the composition comprising said dispersion of polymer particles.

Cosmetic use for caring for and making up keratin materials.

A hair care composition comprising: i) at least one crosslinked nonionic amphiphilic suspending polymer; ii) at least one anionic surfactant; iii) at least one particulate antidandruff agent; and iv) water. The suspending polymer is a pH independent nonionic, amphiphilic emulsion polymer that is crosslinked with an amphiphilic crosslinking agent and effectively suspends water insoluble particulate antidandruff agents.

Skin tightening compositions for application to the skin for providing an instantaneous and dramatic improvement to the appearance of skin. The skin tightening compositions typically include a dispersion (A) comprising i) at least two particle consisting of an ethylenic polymer, ii) at least stabilizers comprising at least one (C3-C12)cycloalkyl group, iii) at least one hydrocarbon-based fatty substance which is liquid at 20° C. and 1 atmosphere, iv) at least one polyol which is liquid at 20° C. and 1 atmosphere and optionally v) water, one ore more polyols, in addition to the one or more polyol(s) from A)iv), which may be the same or different than the one from A)iv); one or more volatile hydrocarbon, in addition to the one or more volatile hydrocarbon(s) from A)iii), which may be the same or different than the one from A)iii); one or more fillers.

A skin external preparation includes a finely dispersed wax composition that is solid or semisolid at room temperature, a nonionic surfactant, an aqueous dispersion medium, and an ionic water-soluble thickener, and optionally further contains at least one of silicone oil and fluorinated oil which is liquid at room temperature, and the mass ratio of the nonionic surfactant to the wax being 1.0 or more, the particle size of the finely dispersed wax is 500 nm or less, and it substantially contains no ionic surfactants therein.

The disclosure describes a pigment suspension comprising a) at least one colorant compound selected from the group of pigments and b) an ester of glycerol with an aliphatic C.sub.2-C.sub.6 carboxylic acid. A cosmetic composition may be utilized to provide improved wear and transfer resistance. Perfume composition provided in the form of a plurality of dispersed perfume-containing droplets, suspended in an aqueous dispersing medium, said perfume droplets being mono-dispersed and having a diameter of 200 micrometres to 4000 micrometres, wherein said droplets comprise more than 60 wt %, of perfume ingredients, and wherein 25 wt or less of said perfume ingredients are linear or branched alkyl alcohols and/or alkenyl alcohols; 10 wt % or less of the perfume ingredients are aldehydes; and 10 wt % or less of the perfume ingredients have a ClogP less than 2.1.

Disclosed are hair styling compositions comprising: (a) one or more latex polymers selected from acrylate latex polymers, polyurethane latex polymers, and mixtures thereof; and (b) a wax dispersion comprising: (i) particles having a volume-basis particle size distribution with peaks in the range of equal to or greater than 1 μm up to about 100 μm wherein the particles comprise at least one wax having a melting point of greater than 35° C.; (ii) a surfactant mixture comprising a nonionic surfactant and an ionic surfactant; (iii) an oil gellant; and (iv) water.
