Water-in-oil microemulsions for personal care
Water-in-oil microemulsions containing triglyceride oil for personal care applications are described. The W/O type of microemulsions based on triglyceride oils such as soya oil and sunflower oil are suitable for skin cleansing shower oils. The microemulsions of the patent application allow the use of several mild surfactants, thereby obviating the use of aliphatic amine based anionic surfactants for personal cleansing. The microemulsion based on coconut oil serves like a ‘two-in-one’ formulation for prewash hair conditioning like a typical hair-oil and subsequently like a shampoo for cleansing the hair.
Thickening self-invertible inverse latex comprising, as an inverting agent, surfactant species of the polyglycerol ester family, and compositions containing same
Disclosed is a self-invertible inverse latex including, as an inverting agent, surfactant species of the polyglycerol ester family; the use thereof as a thickening and/or emulsifying and/or stabilising agent for a cosmetic, dermopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical topical composition, and cosmetic, dermopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical topical compositions containing same. Also disclosed is a new surfactant composition containing polyglycerol esters.
Method of Thickening Cosmetic Composition
A method of thickening cosmetics containing a crosslinked water-swellable polymer, or a microgel obtained by pulverizing a hydrophilic compound having gelation ability. The method comprises adding a linear polyacrylic acid or a salt thereof, or a linear poly(2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid) or a salt thereof, having a weight-average molecular weight of 500,000 to 8,000,000, which has a thread length of 10 mm or less at room temperature when formed into a 1% by mass solution. The method provides cosmetics having an improved viscoelastic ratio, with a rich and full-bodied feeling upon application.
BLEND OF BEESWAX AND A LACTYLATE ESTER
Suggested is a mixture for improving the sun protection of compositions comprising UV filters, the mixture consisting of (a) beeswax; and (b) at least one lactylate ester.
A WATER-IN-OIL EMULSION WITH EMOLLIENT AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates generally to compositions that include at least two or at least three gelling agents, at least one emollient, and at least 15% water by mass relative to the total mass.
Emulsion stabiliser
A dispersion stabiliser precursor composition including one or more of cucurbituril, a variant or a derivative thereof, and one or more oil-in-water macromolecular amphiphilic emulsifier, wherein the composition is in the form of a free flowing powder; and an oil-in-water emulsion composition including one or more of cucurbituril, a variant or a derivative thereof, and one or more oil-in-water macromolecular amphiphilic emulsifier.
FOAM COMPOSITIONS
A foaming antiperspirant or deodorant composition comprising: a. an oil and water emulsion; b. a first blowing agent with at least 0.1% water solubility at 20° C.; and c. a second blowing agent with a water solubility of at most 0.01% at 20° C.
FOAM COMPOSITIONS
A foaming antiperspirant or deodorant composition comprising: a. an oil in water emulsion comprising: i. a first oil phase comprising one or more emollients; ii. a second oil phase comprising one or more emollients; wherein the second oil phase emollients have at most 5% solubility in the first oil phase emollients; iii. an antiperspirant or deodorant active; iv. one or more nonionic emulsifier; and v. a fragrance; and b. at most about 15%, by weight of the composition, of a blowing agent.
VOLATILE OILY COMPOSITION
A volatile oil composition includes a vehicle and a silicone elastomer, wherein the vehicle is a volatile oily composition of (a) from 50 to 100% by weight of a mixture of linear paraffins including (i) 90 to 99% by weight of at least one linear paraffin selected from C.sub.8, C.sub.10, C.sub.12 paraffins and mixtures thereof, and (ii) 1 to 10% by weight of a C.sub.14 linear paraffin, and (b) from 0 to 50% by weight of at least one non-volatile oil.
