A computer input device, such as a mouse, has a processing circuit, a memory having instructions for controlling operations of the processing circuit, a surface movement sensor in communication with the processing circuit providing to the processing circuit first signals indicative of sensed movement of the computer input device upon a surface, and one or more touchless sensor subsystems in communication with the processing circuit providing to the processing circuit second signals indicative of sensed surface movements relative to the computer input device occurring in spaced proximity to the computer input device. A transmission circuit under control of the processing circuit issues transmissions to a computer representative of the first and second signals to cause regions or locations on a computer display screen to be pointed to, to cause information which is represented on the computer display screen to be moved and/or selected, to cause locations on the computer display screen to be designated, etc.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE DISPLAY OF AN IMAGE STREAM

Embodiments of the invention are related to a system and method of controlling a display of an image stream. The system may include a memory to store the image stream; the image stream may comprise a plurality of image frames. The system may further include a processor configured to execute the method. The moving image stream may be displayed to a user in an image stream display area of a screen and a frame rate control interface may be generated on a speed control area of the screen, such that the image stream display area is horizontally adjacent to the speed control area. An indication of a desired frame rate for displaying the image stream of the image frames may be received from the user, in that the frame rate may be selected according to a location of a pointing indicator in the speed control area.

DEVICE COMPONENT FOR A MAGNETORHEOLOGICAL BRAKING APPARATUS, HAVING TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION
20220412416 · 2022-12-29 ·

A device component has a magnetorheological braking apparatus with a stationary holder and at least two brake components. One of the two brake components is connected to the holder for conjoint rotation and extends in the axial direction. The two brake components can be rotated relative to each other. The second brake component has a hollow sleeve part and surrounds the first brake component. A closed chamber is formed between the brake components. The second brake component is rotatably accommodated on the first brake component at a first end of the closed chamber. The closed chamber is substantially filled with a magnetorheological medium. A magnetic-field generator forms a magnetic field to influence the medium in the closed chamber. The second brake component is axially slidable on the first brake component to change a volume of the closed chamber to compensate for temperature-related and/or leakage-related volume changes.

METHOD FOR OPERATING AN INPUT DEVICE FOR A COMPUTER DEVICE, AND INPUT DEVICE
20220413627 · 2022-12-29 ·

A method for operating an input device. An input element of the input device is manually operated to perform an input into a computer device operatively connected to the input device. Mobility of the input element can be selectively delayed, blocked, and enabled by a controllable magneto-rheological braking device. The mobility of the input element is selectively adjusted by the computer device at least as a function of at least one input condition stored in the computer device. The input device may be a computer mouse.

Feedback input apparatus and method for use thereof

Provided are a computer mouse and a method for operating the computer mouse, with the computer mouse including a palm-rest on a first side thereof, a baseplate on a second side substantially opposite the first side, hinges positioned along an edge of the palm-rest, and finger-rests, with each finger-rest fixedly attached to one end of a respective hinge.

HUMAN COMPUTER INTERFACE SYSTEM THAT CORRECTS FOR SHAKY INPUT
20220404915 · 2022-12-22 ·

A human to computer interface system receives motion data from a motion sensor of the interface device, smooths the motion data to create control data, and outputs the control data to a computing device. The control data corrects for shakiness in manipulating the interface device and may be created by averaging the motion data of a time interval to result in smooth cursor movement on the display of the computing device.

Computer mouse with bottom surface resistance point for precision movements.
20220404919 · 2022-12-22 ·

A computer mouse including a base with bottom surface for sliding across a work surface, with a retrievable tip for providing a resistance point for precision movements. At retrieved position, the tip is not touching the work surface, proving regular mouse movement. At working position, the tip is touching the work surface and creating resistance for precise movement of the mouse over the work surface.

In some embodiments, computer mouse operated with tip in braked position allows the user to make rotational movements/gestures that can be registered by computer program to invoke actions, this new type of gesture is especially important for people with disabilities that have difficulties with existing gesture like clicking button.

In some embodiments, computer mouse operated with tip in braked position allows users with hand tremor to improve cursor positioning by stopping cursor in vicinity of target, then reaching target by rotational movement.

Wireless input system

A wireless input system includes a first computer, a second computer, a first-mode wireless connection device, a first input device and a second input device. When the first-mode wireless connection between the first input device and the first-mode wireless connection device is established and the first-mode wireless connection between the second input device and the first-mode wireless connection device is established, the first input device and the second input device can be operated to control the first computer. When the second-mode wireless connection between the first input device and the second computer is established, the second input device can follow the first input device to perform a connection switching operation. Consequently, the second-mode wireless connection between the second input device and the second computer is established.
