An image forming system includes: a sheet feeder; an image former that forms an image on a paper sheet; a conveyor that conveys a paper sheet to a sheet ejection destination; a switcher that switches sheet ejection destinations; a reader that optically reads a paper sheet, and outputs a read image; an abnormal sheet detector that detects an abnormal paper sheet by analyzing the read image; a storage; a display; and a hardware processor that performs: ejection destination switch control to control the switcher to eject an abnormal paper sheet and a succeeding paper sheet to a second ejection destination different from a regular ejection destination; storage control, for each of the abnormal paper sheet and the succeeding paper sheet, to associate sheet information, the read image, and a stacking order with one another, and store them into the storage; and display control to cause the display to display them.
EDITING DEVICE EDITING PRINT DATA FOR CREATING LABEL WITH PRINTER TO WHICH TAPE CASSETTE IS ATTACHABLE
In an editing device, a controller is configured to perform: editing; and displaying. The editing edits print data for a composite label to be created by affixing at least one overlay label to a base label. A printer is configured to perform a single printing operation using an ink ribbon to print an object on a tape in a single printing color thereby creating a single label. The editing includes: determining a printing color of an object; categorizing the object to one of a base object and an overlay object; and setting a print mode to one of a shortest length mode in which a single overlay label is created for each overlay object and a fewest prints mode in which a single overlay label is created for all overlay objects having a same printing color. The displaying displays a composite label image based on the print data.
Dynamic Configuration of a Printer for a Printing Operation
In some implementations, a device may identify, for a printing operation, a media type associated with media involved in the printing operation. The device may receive, from a sensor, a sensor measurement associated with an ambient condition of the printer. The device may determine, using a print optimization model, a printing configuration for the printing operation based on the media type and the ambient condition, wherein the print optimization model is trained based on reference data associated with historical printing operations associated with one or more printers, wherein the reference data includes reference configurations associated with the historical printing operations, respective media types of media used in the historical printing operations, and corresponding ambient conditions of the one or more printers during the historical printing operations. The device may cause the printer to perform the printing operation according to the printing configuration.

An image forming control method is applied to an image forming apparatus. The method includes, after the image forming apparatus is connected to an image processing apparatus, sending information related to a halftone parameter of the image forming apparatus to the image processing apparatus for storage, obtaining halftone-processed intermediate data that is to be printed sent by the image processing apparatus, and outputting the halftone-processed intermediate data that is to be printed to an image generator to perform an image forming operation.

In a printing system capable of supplying a sheet of a job having undergone print processing by the printing unit of a printing apparatus to a post-processing unit capable of executing at least a specific type of post-processing among a plurality of types of post-processes, when the target job requires the specific type of post-processing, the printing apparatus is inhibited from executing print processing of the job without explicitly determining a sheet necessary for the print processing of the job by a user using a user interface unit. When the target job does not require the specific type of post-processing, the printing apparatus is permitted to execute print processing of the job without explicitly determining a sheet necessary for the print processing of the job by the user using the user interface unit.

An editing method being performed by a computer according to one aspect includes executing processing of: causing a display to display an editing screen on which a layout of an object is capable of being edited; and enabling switching of a selection condition for each object on the editing screen to be brought into one of a selected state and an unselected state based on an operation by a user. The switchable selection condition may include a combination of a first selection condition for bringing an object whose own area is entirely included in a range designated by an operation of designating the range into a selected state and a second selection condition for bringing an object whose own area is at least partially included in the designated range into a selected state.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium stores computer-readable instructions that are executable by a processor of an information processing device and compatible with a printer connected with the information processing device. The instructions support a general-purpose printing program incorporated in an operating system of the information processing device. The general-purpose printing program is configured to handle data for displaying a print setting screen on the information processing device. The instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the information processing device to, after print settings are changed via the print setting screen, determine whether the print settings are proper based on capability information of the printer, when determining that the print settings include improper settings, generate first notification data indicating that the print settings are improper, and provide the first notification data to the general-purpose printing program, thereby enabling the first notification data to be displayed on the print setting screen.

The processor is programmed to generate image data of a first form including a predetermined area having a predetermined color that is associated with one or more parts constituting a final product of a job identified by the first form, generate image data of one or more second forms that inherit the predetermined color of the predetermined area from the first form, instruct the printing device to print the first form and the one or more second forms using the image data of the first form and the one or more second forms, and manage the job identified by the first form and the one or more second forms by using the predetermined color of the predetermined area of the first form and the one or more second forms.

A print data generating device is configured to generate print data for creating a printed medium by printing a target image on a heat-sensitive medium with a printing device. The printing device includes a thermal head having a heating element. The heat-sensitive medium includes: a base material; and a heat-sensitive layer. The base material has a transparency. The heat-sensitive layer is provided over one surface of the base material and is configured to develop a first color when heated to a first temperature or higher. The printing device is configured to control the heating element according to the print data to heat the heat-sensitive medium. The print data generating device includes a controller. The controller is configured to perform: (a) determining a condition of a background area on which the heat-sensitive medium is to be superimposed; and (b) generating the print data in accordance with the condition determined in (a).
Methods for processing documents for use in variable data printing operations
Methods for identifying and generating a preview set of documents for use with variable data printing operations reduce the number of records that are previewed using filtering criteria. Records to be included in the preview set include text objects having text variables, image objects having image variables, and barcode objects having barcode variables. Records for the preview set also include those defined by rules and associated conditions based on data provided to generate the documents. A better representation of the variable data print job is provided.
