In an information processing device, a computer executes a device list download process to download a device list from a storage server. The device list includes a plurality of pieces of identification information corresponding to respective ones of a plurality of management target devices. The computer executes a connection determination process to determine for each management target device whether or not the management target device identified by the piece of identification information is connected to the information processing device via the communication interface. The computer executes a content data download process to download content data from the storage server via the communication interface. The computer executes a transmission process to transmit, to the device that is determined to be connected to the information processing device in the connection determination process, the content data which is downloaded in the content data download process and corresponds to the target management device.

Techniques and mechanisms are provided for causing a first terminal apparatus connected to a first network to: determine whether the first terminal apparatus is being used in a form in which a second terminal apparatus connected to a second network is remotely controlled, perform control, in a case where the first terminal apparatus is not being used in the form, so that a first driver is installed on the first terminal apparatus, the first driver being used by the first terminal apparatus to transmit a print job to a first image forming apparatus connected to the first network, and perform control, in a case where the first terminal apparatus is being used in the form, so that a second driver is installed on the second terminal apparatus, the second driver being used by the second terminal apparatus to transmit the print job to the first image forming apparatus.

A communication system includes a mediation apparatus communicating with a device via a local network and an information processing apparatus communicating with the mediation apparatus through firewall. The information processing apparatus including a first control device. The mediation apparatus includes a second control device transmitting to the information processing apparatus through the firewall a first request for requesting transmission of a first command for the device, and a second request for requesting transmission of a second command for the mediation apparatus. In response to receiving the first command, the second controller transmits to the device via the local network a device command. In response to receiving the second command, the second controller performs a second-command dependent instruction. In response to receiving the first request and the second request, the first control device transmits respectively the first command and the second command to the mediation apparatus.

Systems and methods relate generally to contextual features for a printing device. In an example method thereof, features of a printing device configuration are queried by a firmware service. The features obtained by a first dynamic scheduling service associated with the printing device are packaged. The features packaged are retrieved to provide a features list thereof by a second dynamic scheduling service for a driver associated with the printing device. Dynamic scheduling data is generated by an artificial intelligence service including deactivating one or more of the features responsive to a policy. The generating of the dynamic scheduling data includes filtering the features using the policy by the artificial intelligence service. A dynamic user interface is created by the second dynamic scheduling service responsive to the dynamic scheduling data.

A server system includes a first receiving unit configured to receive, from a printing apparatus operated by a user, a registration request for information regarding the printing apparatus, an acquisition unit configured to acquire information to be used for acquisition of capability information of the printing apparatus, from the printing apparatus that has transmitted the registration request, a transmission unit configured to transmit the acquired information to a different server system, and a second receiving unit configured to receive, from the different server system, capability information of the printing apparatus that is identified by the different server system based on the transmitted information.

An image forming apparatus includes a memory, a control device, and an image forming device. The control device includes a processor and functions as a memory manager and a controller through the processor executing a control program. The memory manager allocates amounts of the memory depending on different types of processing constituting a job to create a plurality of memory regions. The controller executes the job using at least one of the plurality of memory regions. The image forming device executes an image forming job of forming an image on a sheet under control of the controller.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor and a memory storing instructions. Executing the instructions by the processor causes the processor to perform operations. A virtual device on the information processing apparatus to transmit a print job to an image forming apparatus is selected. A user interface is displayed that is for activating, in accordance with the selected virtual device and among one or more applications to provide an additional function to the image forming apparatus, an application that corresponds to a model of the image forming apparatus to which the selected virtual device transmits the print job.

In an information-processing device a controller executes a storage process to store a command program in a memory. The command program supports the target device and outputs commands to the target device. In a case where the memory does not store the command program, an OS executes a plug and play process for a target device triggered by connection of the target device to the communication interface, and records in the memory unspecified device information indicating that the target device is unknown. In a case where the memory stores the unspecified device information, the OS does not complete a setup process even if the memory stores the command program. The controller executes, after executing the storage process, a deletion process to delete the unspecified device information from the memory so that the OS can complete the setup process.

A method for an information processing apparatus includes searching for a printer, determining whether a printer detected by the searching is capable of executing a process according to a predetermined specification conforming to Internet Printing Protocol, and setting the information processing apparatus so as to generate a print job to be sent to the detected printer according to the predetermined specification, based on a determination that the detected printer is capable of executing the process according to the predetermined specification. Downloading of software to be used for generating a print job to be sent to the detected printer is facilitated, based on a determination that the detected printer is not capable of executing the process according to the predetermined specification.

An information apparatus comprises a controller including a processor and a memory, and the controller is configured to: obtain information of a printer; search, using the obtained information, for extension software for extending functions of a printer driver that generates a print command to be sent to the printer; install extension software found by the searching; and activate the installed extension software so that print options to be used for the printer driver to generate a print job to be sent to the printer are displayed.
