An information processing apparatus connectable with a terminal via a network to manage a license of a package including applications assignable to a device includes circuitry configured to display a first screen for displaying a device list, the license of the package being assignable to and cancellable from the device in response to receiving a first request, receive a selection of a specific device in the device list and any one of an operation of assigning and cancelling the license of the package, assign the license of the package to the selected specific device in response to receiving the selection of the specific device and the operation of assigning the license of the package, and cancel the license of the package from the selected specific device in response to receiving the selection of the specific device and the operation of cancelling the license of the package.

A printer includes a reception unit, an acquisition unit, and a printing unit. The reception unit receives a second print job including print data containing embedded storage location information indicating a storage location of a first print job from a relay unit that receives a print job from a user terminal, transmits the print job designating limited functions to the printer, the limited functions being a limited subset of functions that a printer treated as a relay destination is capable of achieving, and does not transmit the print job designating a function other than the limited functions to the printer. The acquisition unit acquires the first print job from the storage location indicated by the storage location information. The printing unit executes printing based on the first print job.

An image forming system includes a terminal device, a management apparatus, and a plurality of image forming apparatuses. The terminal device includes a first controller that generates a print job, and transmits the print job to the management apparatus. The management apparatus includes a storage queue, and a second controller that stores the print job in the storage queue upon receipt thereof, determines one of the image forming apparatuses that completes a printing operation based on the print job most rapidly, as transfer destination, on a basis of printing ability of each of the image forming apparatuses, and transmits the print job to the image forming apparatus determined as the transfer destination. The image forming apparatuses each include an image forming device, and a third controller that causes the image forming device to execute the printing operation based on the print job, upon receipt thereof.

A printing apparatus of the present invention receives a print job from an information processing apparatus and performs printing. The printing apparatus obtains, from the information processing apparatus, information indicating the number of pages per copy of the print job, determines whether double-sided printing is to be performed for the print job, and determines, based on the obtained information, whether the print job is a print job in which the number of pages per copy is an odd number of pages. The printing apparatus controls to print by inserting a blank page before a page that is received first in the print job, based on a determination that, in the print job, the number of pages per copy is an odd number of pages.

A server system includes a first receiving unit configured to receive, from a printing apparatus operated by a user, a registration request for information regarding the printing apparatus, an acquisition unit configured to acquire information to be used for acquisition of capability information of the printing apparatus, from the printing apparatus that has transmitted the registration request, a transmission unit configured to transmit the acquired information to a different server system, and a second receiving unit configured to receive, from the different server system, capability information of the printing apparatus that is identified by the different server system based on the transmitted information.

A function executing device may send screen display information to a terminal device via a first wireless interface without executing, via the first wireless interface, communication using specific authentication information, wherein the screen display information is for causing the terminal device to display a function screen. In a case where a first execution instruction for causing the function executing device to execute a first function is inputted to the terminal device after a function screen has been displayed in the terminal device, the function executing device may execute the communication using the specific authentication information with the terminal device via the first wireless interface and execute communication of first function execution information for executing the first function via the first wireless interface with the terminal device.

A virtual device on the information processing apparatus to transmit a print job to an image forming apparatus is selected. A user interface is displayed that is for activating, in accordance with the selected virtual device and among one or more applications to provide an additional function to the image forming apparatus, an application that corresponds to a model of the image forming apparatus to which the selected virtual device transmits the print job.

An approach is provided for configuring printing devices using a mobile device. The mobile device acquires, from a configuration manager, data that identifies a plurality of configurations available for a printing device. The mobile device displays the data and a user selects a configuration for the printing device. The mobile device causes the selected configuration to be applied to the printing device.

An information processing device is configured to execute a management program and a print server program. The management program determines whether a non-compliant printer is connected to the information processing device, determines whether a print server program is running when the non-compliant printer is connected, starts up the print server program when the print server program is not running, and registers a print server configured by the print server program with an operating system. The print server program receives a print job designating the print server as an output destination, obtains individual print data which is printable by the non-compliant printer, and transmits the obtained individual print data to the non-compliant printer.

An information processing apparatus includes one or more processors configured to perform operations including receiving information indicating a predetermined object from an image forming apparatus, determining whether the object indicated by the information is included in image data for which a printing instruction has been issued by a user, designating a format of the image data, to be transmitted to the image forming apparatus, based on a result of the determining, converting the image data into the designated format, and transmitting the converted image data to the image forming apparatus.
