Examples disclosed herein relate to capturing an identifying characteristic of a printer, displaying a plurality of documents suitable for printing on the printer, receiving a selection of at least one document of the plurality of documents suitable for printing on the printer, and causing the selected at least one document to be delivered to the printer according to the identifying characteristic.

Techniques are disclosed for locally printing a print job generated by a remote web services platform. It may be that a local computer and an application of the remote web services platform that generates the print job lack a bidirectional communications link (like a VPN connection). A printer service on the web services platform presents itself as a printer to an application on the web services platform. The printer service receives a print job from the application and transmits it to a client-side print service. The client print service then sends the print job to a local printer.

A secure document printing and delivery management system includes one or more print delivery vehicles, each of which includes an onboard print device. When the system receives a print job from a requesting device, it will select a print delivery vehicle instruct the print delivery vehicle to navigate to a delivery location. Upon arrival at the delivery location, the system will detect and verify a security token presented by a recipient. In response to detecting and verifying the token, the system may print the document (if not already printed) and it will present the document to the recipient.

An image forming apparatus includes a processor configured to: obtain a print job in which setting-tray information is registered, the setting-tray information describing a tray and being specified according to a configuration of a second image forming apparatus, the second image forming apparatus being different from the image forming apparatus; and execute the print job by applying tray information, the tray information corresponding to the setting-tray information of the print job and according with a configuration of the image forming apparatus.

Provided is a production printing system that enables more efficient and flexible processing. The production printing system X processes variable data for production printing. A variable document creation unit creates a variable document with a condition set for each record. A subset integration unit collects records of same type in any one or any combination of prepress, printing, post-processing, and output destination as a subset according to the condition set for each record of the variable document created by the variable document creation unit. A job ticket creation unit creates a job ticket corresponding to the subset collected by the subset integration unit. A variable processing unit performs processing of the job by the job ticket created by the job ticket creation unit.

An information processing apparatus includes a receiving unit configured to receive order data for a printed product, and content data for the order data, and a control unit configured to perform control in such a manner as to perform production of the printed product. The order data for the printed product and the content data for the order data are received at different timings. The receiving unit further receives finalized information about the content data. The control unit performs control in such a manner as to perform production of the printed product based on the order data, the content data and the finalized information.

An information processing device includes a processor that is configured to receive execution instructions that instruct printing to be executed, group the execution instructions into an aggregation in accordance with attributes of the execution instructions, perform control in such a way that a first execution instruction that has been received and a second execution instruction that has not been received are displayed using different display modes in accordance with type information indicating types of the execution instructions constituting the aggregation.
