An image forming apparatus includes a confirmer, a response receiver, and a controller. The confirmer causes the image forming device to stand by, without starting production of a printed material, upon deciding that a print request has been sent from a remote location distant from the image forming apparatus, and transmits, through a network I/F, a request for final confirmation just before starting, about whether the production of the printed material may be started, to a user of a terminal device that transmitted the print request. The response receiver receives a response to the final confirmation, from the terminal device owned by the user. The controller causes the image forming device to start the production of the printed material, upon deciding that the response from the user received by the response receiver indicates permission to start the production of the printed material.

An image forming apparatus includes a processor configured to: allow execution of printing using registered print information, the registered print information being allowed to be applied to a print job for performing printing, the registered print information being allowed to be recorded in image forming apparatuses individually, and receive an operation for executing a print job, the print job being a job to which the registered print information is applied; when the registered print information is recorded in the image forming apparatus, the registered print information being applied to the print job for which the operation for execution is received, perform printing in the image forming apparatus by using the registered print information; and, when the registered print information is not recorded in the image forming apparatus, the registered print information being applied to the print job for which the operation for execution is received, perform printing by using the registered print information received from at least one different image forming apparatus, the at least one different image forming apparatus recording the registered print information.

A terminal capable of performing wireless communication stores wireless connection information about connection established by a handover, and, in a case where an instruction to transmit new job data is received after wireless connection is disconnected after job data is transmitted, the wireless connection is automatically established using the stored wireless connection information as far as a predetermined condition is satisfied, to enable smooth job execution.

An image forming apparatus includes: a processor configured to: acquire, from a print job, identification information that has been preset for a particular image forming apparatus in order to distinguish the particular image forming apparatus from plural image forming apparatuses connected to a network; acquire, from the particular image forming apparatus, user setting information that has been specified during instructing printing of the print job among pieces of user setting information that have been preset by a user for the particular image forming apparatus, information on settings to be used in printing being defined in the pieces of user setting information; and when it is possible to perform the printing with the settings defined in the specified user setting information, enable execution of the print job.

The illustrative embodiments described herein provide systems and methods for notifying a user when a set of characters are identified in a media file. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a set of characters inputted by the user of a computing device, playing the media file, transcribing the media file to form a transcription, and determining whether the transcription of the media file includes the set of characters. The method also includes initiating a notification prompt on a graphical user interface of the computing device in response to determining that the media file includes the set of characters.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: when three conditions are satisfied, output information indicating that there is possibility that an access point to be connected is switched, the first condition being that an automatic switching setting for automatically switching the access point is ON, the automatic switching being made in accordance with the reception strength of a radio wave from the access point, the second condition being that the information processing apparatus connects to a first access point, the first access point being capable of connecting to a device, the device performing a process, the third condition being that the information processing apparatus is allowed to establish a connection to a second access point, the second access point being not capable of connecting to the device, the second access point having a higher reception strength of a radio wave than the first access point.

An information processing method for an information processing apparatus that communicates with an image output apparatus is provided. The information processing apparatus operates in at least one of a first connection mode in which the information processing apparatus is wirelessly connected to the image output apparatus via an access point and a second connection mode in which the information processing apparatus is wirelessly connected to the image output apparatus without intervention of the access point. The method comprises: executing setup processing comprising: registering a first print queue to be used at the time of printing via the connection unit operating in the first connection mode, and registering a second print queue to be used at the time of printing via the connection unit operating in the second connection mode.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: acquire position information of a user in a case where the user is successful in authentication of a system including the information processing apparatus and requests to use the information processing apparatus; and request a management device, which manages a user who is capable of using the information processing apparatus, to allow the user to use the information processing apparatus even though a use of the information processing apparatus is not allowed in advance in a case where the user is present in a predetermined range from the information processing apparatus.

The confirming includes blocking the relaying when the confirmation of the connection to the first device is unsuccessful; enabling the relaying when the confirmation of the connection to the first device is successful and when the second device is not registered in the device list; enabling the relaying when the confirmation of the connections to the first and second devices is successful; and blocking the relaying when the confirmation of the connection to the first device is successful and when the confirmation of the connection to the second device is unsuccessful.
