For instance, data indicative of a connection between a first connection device and a second connection device can be obtained. The first connection device can be associated with a modular computing device, and the second connection device can be associated with a modular component to be implemented within the modular computing device. Each connection device can include a plurality of connector elements. Data indicative of one or more configuration parameters of the second connection device can be obtained. An operating configuration of the first connection device can be determined based at least in part on the data indicative of the one or more configuration parameters. Operation of the first connection device can be controlled based at least in part on the operating configuration.

Backplane bus structure of communication system and board recognition method using same

The present invention relates to the prevention of bus conflicts in the backplane by providing a bus structure which is configured to control the activation of an attached slave board in the backplane to/from which a plurality of slave boards are attached and detached. The backplane according to the present invention can prevent data bus conflicts and improve the stability of a corresponding system by configuring general purpose I/O (GPIO) pins in a 2 bit request/grant scheme between a master board and the plurality of slave boards. Accordingly, the present invention can improve system reliability, maintainability, and competitiveness in various fields such as the fields of communication devices and server devices, remote monitors and control systems, vessel communications, aircraft communications, and wired and wireless communications in which various protocols are combined and implemented.

20170293577 · 2017-10-12 ·

An example processor-implemented method for accessing peripheral devices with the present disclosure includes establishing connection between a portable computing device and a dock, determining a pairing status between the portable computing device and the dock, and managing access to at least one peripheral device by the portable computing device based on the pairing status. The dock is associated with the at least one peripheral device.

CASCADED HDMI CONNECTORS

HDMI systems, devices, circuits, and apparatuses perform functions to allow extending the number of HDMI inputs for an HDMI device using cascaded HDMI extenders. HDMI extenders are mechanically coupled and decoupled to an HDMI device such as an HDMI switch or sink device. HDMI extenders include HDMI input ports to receive HDMI signals and include connectors to receive and transmit HDMI signals as well as non-HDMI signals for configuration and control of the HDMI extenders. One or more mechanically coupled HDMI extenders are configured by the HDMI device based on information received from HDMI source devices connected to the HDMI extenders and to the HDMI device. The HDMI extenders select between HDMI signals received from their input ports or HDMI signals received from their connectors, and provide the selected HDMI signals to the HDMI device. HDMI extenders are configured to be cascaded in any number to increase HDMI source availability.

Method for card reader to communicate with upper computer via USB channel communication and Bluetooth channel connection

A method for a card reader to communicate with an upper computer comprises: initializing a card reader system and enabling an interrupt; determining an interrupt identification type; for Bluetooth communication interrupt identification resetting or USB communication interrupt identification resetting, receiving an instruction and saving a channel identification corresponding to the instruction, performing a corresponding operation according to an instruction type, sending a corresponding response to the upper computer and clearing the Bluetooth communication interrupt identification or the USB communication interrupt identification; for another interrupt identification, performing a corresponding operation according to an interrupt identification type. The method can solve a problem in prior art that a card reader cannot communicate with mobile devices of different models through a USB port.

Virtual hot plug system and method for PCIe devices

A method for managing a pool of physical functions in a PCIe integrated endpoint includes receiving a configuration instruction indicating a topology for a PCIe connected integrated endpoint (IE), and implementing the topology on the IE. The method further includes receiving a hot plug instruction, and, based at least in part, on the hot plug instruction, adding or removing a virtual endpoint (vEP) to or from a virtual downstream port (vDSP) on the IE.

Hot plug device providing turn on FETs with a softstart capability

A hot plug device includes an electronic subsystem and a plurality of main turn on FETs, wherein each main turn on FET includes a gate, a power input for coupling to a power source, and an output for controllably providing power to the electronic subsystem. An auxiliary current path is in parallel with the main turn on FETs and includes a fuse, an impedance element and an auxiliary turn on FET. A turn on controller controls the main turn on FETs and the auxiliary turn on FET. Current is initially through the high impedance auxiliary current path to apply voltage to an output power rail. Subsequently, current is allowed to pass through a plurality of main turn on FETs to the output power rail in response to the output power rail having a voltage exceeding a voltage threshold as a result of using the high impedance auxiliary current path.

Device and method for measuring, recording and reporting fluid flow

An electronic flow instrument and method which uses the instrument for monitoring and/or controlling the production or flow of a fluid. The instrument has a multiplexer linked by a USB connection to a microcontroller so that the multiplexer provides multiple USB connection ports for the microcontroller. A resident USB flash drive is installed in one of the USB connection ports for storing long term logging data related to the production or flow of the fluid. Secure access to the electronic flow instrument is provided by using a second USB flash drive containing a security file or password as a security key.

DATA TRANSFER BETWEEN HOST AND PERIPHERAL DEVICES

A device, which may be a peripheral device or a host computing device, comprises a communication interface, a memory and a processor. The processor is arranged to detect imminent disconnection of a communication link between the peripheral device and the host computing device and in response to detecting the imminent disconnection of the communication link, to trigger a data transfer from the host computing device to the peripheral device via the communication interface. The data transfer defines, at least in part, a fixed output data set which, after disconnection, is output via an output device in the peripheral device.
