Provided is a technology that enables a plurality of sensor information to be synchronized for a technology of a sensor management device communicating with a plurality of wireless sensors in a time division manner. A sensor management device includes a transmission unit that transmits acquisition start instructions for starting acquisitions of sensor information to a plurality of wireless sensors respectively at different timings; and an extraction unit that extracts a plurality of common period sensor information that the plurality of wireless sensors have acquired in the common period from the plurality of sensor information with reference to deviation of times at which the transmission unit has transmitted the acquisition start instructions to the plurality of wireless sensors.

EARLY COLLISION DETECTION AND HANDLING IN CDMA-BASED RFID SYSTEMS

A method, system and computer program product for enabling early collision detection and handling in Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA)-based radio-frequency identification (RFID) systems. A tag receives an instruction from a reader to reflect either a single encoded bit or multiple encoded bits. The tag then reflects either the single encoded bit or the multiple encoded bits to the reader. The reader decodes the received encoded bit(s) from the tag, where the decoded bit(s) are placed in a vector or matrix by the reader. The vector/matrix is then transmitted to the tag, which determines if the reflected bit(s) agree with the corresponding bit(s) in the vector/matrix thereby indicating whether the reflected bit(s) were read successfully by the reader. The tag will then enter a no reflection mode in response to a disagreement between the reflected bit(s) with the corresponding bit(s) in the vector/matrix thereby preventing collisions from occurring.

Communication device and method

The present disclosure relates to a communication device and method capable of suppressing subjective quality deterioration at the time of a low bit rate. An application selection unit of an IC card selects an application hosted by a communication target device. Identification information of the communication target device is acquired after the application is selected. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a communication system.

In accordance with a first aspect of the present disclosure, a system is provided for verifying whether objects belong to a predefined set, the system comprising: a first radio frequency, RF, communication device comprised in or attached to a first object a second RF communication device comprised in or attached to a second object; an RF communication reader configured to perform a read operation; wherein a first portion of a valid response is provided in the first RF communication device and wherein a second portion of said valid response is provided in the second RF communication device; the system being configured to produce a positive verification result if the RF communication reader receives a sum of the first portion of the valid response and the second portion of the valid response. In accordance with a second aspect of the present disclosure, a corresponding method is conceived for verifying whether objects belong to a predefined set. In accordance with a third aspect of the present disclosure, a corresponding computer program is provided.

MULTI-PROTOCOL RFID SYSTEM

A multi-protocol RFID interrogating system employs a synchronization technique (step-lock) for a backscatter RFID system that allows simultaneous operation of closely spaced interrogators. The multi-protocol RFID interrogating system can communicate with backscatter transponders having different output protocols and with active transponders including: Title 21 compliant RFID backscatter transponders; IT2000 RFID backscatter transponders that provide an extended mode capability beyond Title 21; EGOTM RFID backscatter transponders, SEGOTM RFID backscatter transponders; ATA, ISO, ANSI AAR compliant RFID backscatter transponders; and IAG compliant active technology transponders. The system implements a step-lock operation, whereby adjacent interrogators are synchronized to ensure that all downlinks operate within the same time frame and all uplinks operate within the same time frame, to eliminate downlink on uplink interference.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SEARCHING AND REGISTERING TAGS IN LOCAL POSITIONING SYSTEM

The invention relates to local positioning and more particularly to methods of searching and registering tags in a local positioning system. A method of registering tags in a local positioning system is provided. Registering is performed in near-field mode. Tag stores identifying data of the local positioning system. Positioning unit stores identifying data of the tag. Furthermore, a method of searching a tag registered in a local positioning system is provided. Positioning units send address search packets into the space of the local positioning system. Desired tag responds with a positioning pulse. There is also provided a method of searching identifying data of a tag not registered in a local positioning system. Positioning units send broadcast search packets into the space of the local positioning system. Bisection method is used to detect identifying data of the tag. The invention can reduce power consumption by the tag and the positioning unit, and eliminate overlapping the signals received from a plurality of tags.
