INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND METHOD

According to embodiments, a device includes a camera configured to read a symbol attached to a commodity and capture an image containing discount information attached to the commodity; a commodity information storage configured to store information regarding the commodity acquired by reading the symbol attached to the commodity; a first evaluator configured to determine whether prior commodity information stored in the commodity information storage includes information related to invisible information, in response to reading discount information attached to the commodity; a second evaluator configured to determine whether commodity identification information included in the discount information is identical to commodity identification information included in the information related to the invisible information, in response to the first evaluator determining that the prior commodity information stored in the commodity storage includes the information related to the invisible information; and an output generator configured to output information related to the discount information.

Barcodes with security material and readers for same

A secure indicator includes a substrate, a barcode symbol that has a plurality of barcode modules provided on the substrate, and a security material positioned proximate the barcode symbol on the substrate. The security material is configured to be activated by irradiation at one or more predetermined activation wavelengths. Additionally, the barcode symbol is configured to be read (i) before the security material is activated and (ii) while the security material is activated.

SCANNABLE CODE HAVING A UNIQUE IDENTIFIER

A greeting card having a scannable code with a unique identifier representative of a unique location on a computer network with the unique location having a first response with a first set of data. The scannable code can be scanned, a first time, to display a first response having a first set of data. The first response can be replaced by a second response having a second set of data.

Locationing System that Utilizes Read Data of a Reader of a Device

In some implementations, a locationing system may receive, from a user device, locationing information associated with the user device. The locationing information may include signal-based locationing information associated with a wireless communication device associated with the locationing system and an object identifier associated with an object identified by read data obtained by a reader of the user device. The locationing system may determine, based on the object identifier, object location information associated with the object. The locationing system may determine, based on the signal-based locationing information, device location information associated with the user device. The locationing system may determine, based on the object location information and the device location information, a location of the user device. The locationing system may perform an action associated with the location and the user device.
