METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR READING MACHINE-READABLE LABELS ON SAMPLE RECEPTACLES
Method and associated system for reading machine-readable labels on a plurality of sample receptacles held by a sample rack. In the method, a machine-readable label associated each of the plurality of sample receptacles is read with a first label reader when the rack is at a first location. The sample rack is then moved from the first location to a second location, where a rack identifier on the sample rack is sensed with a sensor separate from the first label reader. Finally, the rack identifier is associated with the machine-readable labels of the plurality of sample receptacles.
Code information reading device, method, and computer-readable storage medium
A recognition section detects code information from each of plural frames included in video image data and recognizes the code information. A determination section determines that a recognition result recognized by the recognition section is valid in at least one scenario out of a scenario in which at least part of the recognition result matches a predetermined character, or a scenario in which a number of characters in the recognition result matches a predetermined number, or a scenario in which the same recognition result is recognized in two or more consecutive frames. An output section employs a recognition result determined to be valid by the determination section to output a reading result for the code information.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUSES FOR IMAGING USING A DUAL-PURPOSE ILLUMINATOR
Embodiments of the disclosure relate generally to imaging devices and indicia reading devices. An imaging apparatus comprises an image sensor, an optical window positioned in front of the image sensor and a light source enclosing a perimeter of the optical window such that an illumination cone of the light source overlaps a portion of a near field of view cone of the imaging apparatus. The portion of the near field of view cone extends from a surface of the optical window to a threshold distance from the optical window. The light source is configured to produce a first illumination along a first direction extending towards a scene to be imaged.
Image processing apparatus and image processing meihod
An image processing apparatus that is capable of communicating with an image capturing apparatus, acquires a first image generated by performing an image capture process at a first zoom magnification, sets a division condition for dividing a detection range included in the first image, divides the detection range into a plurality of divided areas in accordance with the division condition, controls the image capturing apparatus to change an image capture direction on the basis of each position of the respective divided areas of the detection range and performs an image capture process at a second zoom magnification greater than the first zoom magnification so as to sequentially generate second images, acquires each of the second images, and performs a data reading process for each of the second images.
COMMODITY PICKUP APPARATUS
According to an embodiment, a commodity pickup apparatus obtains information related to a commodity to be picked up and the number of pieces thereof. The commodity pickup apparatus displays, on the display device, a list of commodities to be put in the plurality of accommodation portions on the basis of the obtained information in an arrangement state equal to an arrangement state of the plurality of accommodation portions when viewed from an operator of the apparatus.
Labelling scheme and apparatus
A method and system for writing a label (defined within a predetermined region of the sample 110), the label displaying a visible layout of light-modified regions in a predetermined spatial arrangement. The method comprises: modifying regions of a material within the label using light, wherein the modifying comprises using light of a first polarisation state to provide photo-induced optically active regions of a first type having a first optical activity state which is characteristic of having been formed by light of the first polarisation state, in order to encode covert information in the label using the locations of the first type of light-modified regions within the spatial arrangement of the label.
Reading a plurality of codes
A code reading device for the parallel reading of a plurality of codes on a plurality of objects arranged next to one another is provided that has a camera unit having at least one camera head for recording an image of the objects, a control and evaluation unit that is configured to localize code zones of the codes in the image and to read the code information of the codes, and a display unit to present the image and to mark the read codes and/or objects having read codes, Here a hand reading unit for reading codes is provided to subsequently read codes not read by means of the camera unit and to transfer the subsequently read code information to the control and evaluation unit.
System and method for locating and decoding unreadable data matrices
A decoding system for an optical identifier includes a feature detection module configured to locate an optical identifier on an item in a captured image. The optical identifier contains encoded data, the encoded data includes information about the item, the optical identifier includes a plurality of cells, and each of the plurality of cells has one of a first state and a second state. An enhancement module configured to generate an enhanced optical identifier by selectively mapping each of the plurality of cells to one of the first state and the second state based on states of neighboring ones of the plurality of cells. A decoder module is configured to decode the encoded data contained in the enhanced optical identifier to output the information about the item.
METHOD FOR MAINTAINING PERPETUAL INVENTORY WITHIN A STORE
One variation of a method for maintaining perpetual inventory within a store includes: accessing a radar scan of an inventory structure within a store; accessing an optical image of the inventory structure; identifying a product type associated with the slot in a region of the optical image; retrieving a volumetric definition of the product type; locating a slot volume defining the slot in the radar scan; extracting a volumetric representation of a set of product units intersecting the slot volume in the radar scan; segmenting the volumetric representation by the volumetric definition to calculate a quantity of the set of product units occupying the slot; and updating a stock record of the store to reflect the quantity of the set of product units occupying the slot.
Computer configured to display multimedia content
A computer can comprise a housing, a microprocessor disposed within the housing, a display, and a communication interface communicatively coupled to the microprocessor. The computer can be configured, responsive to locating decodable indicia within content viewable on the display, to decode the decodable indicia to produce at least one decoded message. The computer can be further configured to display the content with decoded message data being embedded into the content. The decoded message data can be provided by at least one decoded message, data derived from the decoded message.
