NEAR-FIELD WITH FAR-FIELD TO VERIFY THAT DEVICE IS CONNECTED OR SECURED
The present disclosure relates to a method to check if a connector system with a Connector Position Assurance (CPA) member is in closed position. The method includes providing an RFID-tag reader that is positioned at a distance D to the integrated circuit enabling far-field RFID communication and not permitting near-field RFID communication. Further, the method includes checking the readability of the integrated circuit with the RFID-tag reader and issuing an alert signal if the integrated circuit is not readable by the RFID-tag reader indicating that the CPA member is not in the closed position.
TWO-PIECE TRANSACTION CARD CONSTRUCTION
The disclosed embodiments generally relate to transaction card constructions, and particularly, to a two-piece transaction card construction. Disclosed embodiments include a generally planar first card component including a first surface and a generally planar second card component including a second surface wherein the first card component is separate from the second card component. In disclosed embodiments, for example, the generally planar first card component and the generally planar second card component may be configured such that one forms a cavity and the other forms an inlay component configured to be seated within the cavity. In other embodiments the generally planar first card component and the generally planar second card component may be configured such that one forms a container and the other forms a lid configured to close the container.
Smart Processing Device with Selective Configuration Function Control
Smart processing devices and systems for controlling functionality of smart processing devices are provided. In some examples, a smart processing device may include a central segment and a plurality of removable segments. The removable segments may be connected to the central segment in a plurality of different configurations. In some examples, each configuration may enable or disable functionality associated with the smart processing device. Further, a system may receive data associated with a current physical configuration of a smart processing device. The current physical configuration data may be compared to pre-stored configuration data in order to identify one or more functions to be enabled or disabled for the smart processing device. The system, computing platform, or the like, may generate an instruction, command or signal enabling or disabling functionality and may transmit the signal to the smart processing device for execution and control of functions provided by the smart processing device.
Multi-part transaction card
A transaction card may include a body having a first part connectable with a second part, and a magnetic stripe on a first main side of the body. A first section of the magnetic stripe is provided on the first part of the body, and a second section of the magnetic stripe is provided on the second part of the body. The transaction card may further include an engagement member extending from the first part of the body for retention within a slot of the second part of the body, the slot embedded within the body between the first main side and a second main side.
INSTALLATION ASSEMBLY, INSTRUMENT AND INSTALLATION METHOD FOR RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION TAG
Disclosed herein are an installation assembly (1), an instrument (2) and an installation method for a radio frequency identification tag. The installation assembly (1) comprises a first housing unit (11) mounted on the instrument (2) and a second housing unit (14) snapped-fitted with the first housing unit (11) to form a receiving space for receiving the radio frequency identification tag (13). The radio frequency identification tag (13) can be easily installed on the instrument (2) by snapping-fitting the first housing unit (11) with the second housing unit (14), thereby effectively enhancing installation efficiency and reliability of the radio frequency identification tag (13).
TRANSACTION CARD INCLUDING REMOVABLE INSERT
Provided are approaches for customizing transaction cards using a replaceable insert. In some approaches, the transaction card may include a body comprising a first main side opposite a second main side, a first end opposite a second end, and a first side opposite a second side, wherein a chip is coupled to the first main side of the body. An insert may be positioned within a recess along the first main side, wherein a first magnetic material of the recess and a second magnetic material of the insert are positioned proximate one another to increase retention between the insert and the body.
Split credit card
A separable or split transaction card may be a transaction card that is separable into multiple parts. The transaction card may be separable into multiple portions through an axis that extends through one or more pieces of personal identification information. The transaction card may transition between two or more configurations. A first configuration may be one in which the multiple card portions are not connected, all of the separated pieces of personal identification information are disabled, and the transaction card is disabled. A second configuration may be one in which the multiple card portions are connected, one or more of the separated pieces of personal identification information are enabled, and the transaction card is enabled and may be read when inserted into a card reading machine.
