Video surveillance and object recognition

An object recognition enabled, for example facial recognition enabled, video surveillance system for capturing video of a scene and allowing recognition of objects within that scene. The system comprises at least one camera apparatus connected via a communication channel to a central server with the camera apparatus arranged for capturing visual representation data of a scene. The visual representation data comprises video of the scene and the camera apparatus comprises a camera for capturing said video and a video encoder for sending corresponding video data via the communication channel to the central server. The camera apparatus is further arranged for generating object recognition data based on said visual representation data, and the video encoder is arranged to send said object recognition data along with the video data via the communication channel.

Management of a security system at a premises

A security system is described for managing a premises. The security system comprises security system components and a first controller. A takeover component receives security data of the security system from the first controller. The security data is used to configure a second controller to communicate with the security system. The second controller communicates with the security system components and replaces the first controller in management of the security system.

MONITORING CAMERA AND DETECTION METHOD

A monitoring camera having artificial intelligence includes an imaging unit, a communication unit that receives a parameter relating to a detection target from a terminal device, and a processing unit that constructs the artificial intelligence based on the parameter, and uses the constructed artificial intelligence to detect the detection target from an image captured by the imaging unit.

The system being comprised of a universal software program that interacts with popular network video recording (NVR) and digital video recording (DVR) surveillance systems currently on the market (formerly known as closed circuit televisionCCTV). The software saves footage to the local and/or remote servers and allow users to easily-locate data or isolate key frames of interest. An object of the invention is to enhance the efficiency of surveillance footage management and to eliminate the reliance on a particular type of the NVR or DVR which among other benefits, illiminagtes the solution lock-in. The software allows users to examine and detect any trends in file metadata and migrate footage from one CCTV system to another while preserving the continuity and independence of the video archival process.
