Embodiments of the invention relate to methods for providing information relevant to using a public transportation system (PTS), the method comprising: receiving data relevant to the PTS responsive to a first user while the first user is using the PTS; and providing data relevant to the PTS to at least one of the first and a second user responsive to the received data. The received data may relate to at least one of physically relevant features and socially relevant features of the PTS. Providing data relevant to the PTS may comprise displaying information on a map comprising at least one icon indicative of a PTS vehicle and at a route of travel.
METHOD, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM FOR VERIFYING REPORTED RAMP CLOSURES
An approach is provided for verifying reported ramp closures. The approach involves, for example, processing a ramp closure report to determine reported ramp link(s) associated with the ramp closure report. The approach also involves constructing a ramp network comprising the reported ramp link(s) and other ramp link(s) connected to the reported ramp link(s). The approach further involves collecting probe data collected from one or more sensors of one or more vehicles traveling within the ramp network. The approach further involves identifying one or more driving patterns based on one or more vehicle paths determined from the probe data. The approach further involves performing a verification of a closure status of the reported ramp link(s) based on the one or more driving patterns. The approach further involves providing the verification of the closure status as an output.

In one embodiment, a method for intersection MAP message creation for vehicle communication is provided. The method includes receiving, over a network, map data for an intersection. A processor calculates a reference point location for the intersection from the map data and calculates offset values relative to the reference point location for a plurality of lanes of the intersection from the map data.
Systems and methods for monitoring on-route transportations
The present disclosure relates to a method and system for monitoring on route transportations. The method includes obtaining a driving route of a target vehicle; obtaining a reference position on the driving route away from a first current position of the target vehicle; determining a second current position of the target vehicle after a reference time; determining a distance between the second current position and the reference position is greater than a preset distance; and sending a signal to a target terminal indicating that the target vehicle is off-route.

An approach is provided for synchronizing a function among an embedded system and/or one or more devices. The approach involves causing, at least in part, an authentication of at least one user at an embedded system. The approach also involves causing, at least in part, an association of the at least one user with at least one cloud account associated with the embedded system. The approach further involves causing, at least in part, a registration of one or more devices associated with the at least one user to the at least one cloud account. The approach also involves causing, at least in part, a synchronization of at least one function, data associated with the at least one function, or a combination thereof among the at least one embedded system, the one or more devices, or a combination thereof based, at least in part, on the registration.
Adaptation of passage between two vehicles
An intention of a road user to traverse a passage between a first vehicle and a second vehicle is determined. A required width of the passage is determined based on a nature of the road user. A current width of the passage is determined. Upon determining the current width of the passage is less than the required width of the passage, a drive of at least one of the first vehicle or the second vehicle is actuated to increase the current width of the passage at least to the required width of the passage.

The navigation device includes a travelling path displaying unit that searches a travelling path to a destination set by a user and displays the travelling path on map data, a traffic condition data receiving unit that receives traffic condition data from a content managing server through a wireless communication device in response to a request of providing the traffic condition data over the travelling path, and a traffic condition data providing unit that provides the user with the received traffic condition data.

The electronic apparatus determines a discount applicable on an initial trip cost associated with the trip plan based on received user input and controls the display device to display, based on the determined discount, an incentive including a final trip cost associated the trip plan.

A device may determine a lead vehicle identifier and a follow vehicle identifier associated with navigating to a destination. The device may determine a plurality of device identifiers associated with the lead vehicle identifier or the follow vehicle identifier, identifying a plurality of devices. The device may determine navigation information. The device may provide the navigation information to a navigation device associated with a vehicle identifier. The device may receive a request to modify the navigation information. The device may determine a modification option. The device may provide the modification option to the plurality of devices for voting. The device may receive one or more voting responses. The device may determine a result of the voting based on the one or more voting responses. The device may provide, to the navigation device, an instruction associated with navigating to the destination based on the result of the voting.
