Pickup for stringed instruments
A pickup for a stringed musical instrument, including at least one magnet and at least one pressure sensitive element arranged in contact with the at least one magnet.
Electronic percussion instrument
Provided is an electronic percussion instrument that is capable of simulating a playing technique for an acoustic percussion instrument. A tubular body part is opened on an axial end surface, and a head is attached to the axial end surface to be struck on the front surface. A capacitance sensor includes an electrode that generates a capacitance with respect to a detected conductor, such as a human body, positioned on the front surface side of the head. Because the capacitance sensor detects a change of a capacitance corresponding to a distance between the electrode and the detected conductor, whether the detected conductor approaches (contacts) the head or presses the head can be determined. As a result, the playing technique for the acoustic percussion instrument is simulated.
ELECTRONIC PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SOUND GENERATION
An electronic percussion instrument to control generated sound in accordance with operation to the striking surface includes: a first sensor configured to detect a slapping operation on the striking surface; a second sensor configured to detect a contact operation to the striking surface; and a processor configured to control sound generated in response to detection of a slapping operation by the first sensor in accordance with a place of a contact operation to the striking surface detected by the second sensor.
REED FOR ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT, AND ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
The present invention provides a reed for an electronic musical instrument and an electronic musical instrument in which determination of lip position is not susceptible to the influence of noise and the like. In one embodiment of the present invention, an electronic musical instrument is provided with a reed and a plurality of sensor electrodes in the reed, arranged next to one another from a tip side of the reed towards a base side of the reed, each of the sensor electrodes having a center portion projecting towards the tip side of the reed. The lip position of the performer is determined in accordance with the output from the plurality of sensors.
SymetrEWI
An electronic wind instrument includes capacitance touch switch key touches, a breath pressure sensor, and pinky key touches configured specifically for the purpose of transposing musical phrases into any of the 12 musical keys.
Method, apparatus and computer-readable storage means for adjusting at least one parameter
The present invention concerns a method, an apparatus and a computer-readable storage means for adjusting at least one parameter, which can be used for enhancing the user experience of adjusting parameters, especially of adjusting parameters in common audio software through a system of assignable rotary encoders with capacitive-sensing knob caps and a parameter type aware software. In particular, the present invention ensures that parameters of (audio) software can be adjusted quickly, without diverting a user's attention from actual tasks. For this purpose, a method is proposed, where at least one touch sensitive input element is provided, for at least one of the input elements at least one of a time between subsequent sensed contacts and a time of the presence of the contact is determined, based on the determined time it is decided, whether the contact is a tap gesture, and a parameter is adjusted depending from the tap gesture.
Method, apparatus and computer-readable storage means for adjusting at least two parameters
The invention especially enables a quick adjustment of several parameters by use of rotary encoders. For this purpose, a method is proposed, where at least two touch sensitive input elements are provided for adjusting the at least two parameters, at least one of the at least two touch sensitive input elements is selected by contacting it with at least a first part of the human body, and the at least one parameter, which is assigned to the contacted touch sensitive input elements, is adjusted by operating, with at least a second part of the human body, at least one input element different from the contacted touch sensitive input elements.
Floor effect unit
A floor effect unit for actuating a musical effect device is provided. The floor effect unit includes a base plate having at least one electrode configured to collect electric charges; a conductive plate having at least one pressable portion configured to collect electric charges having a polarity opposite to the polarity of charges collected on the electrode, pressable portion being configured such that pressing thereon reduces the distance between the at least one pressable portion and the at least one electrode changing thereby the capacitance therebetween; and a spacer disposed between the base plate and the conductive plate and being configured to provide dielectric gap therebetween, a printed circuit board coupled to the at least one electrode and the conductive plate and being configured to generate an output signal for operating the musical effect device in response to a change in the capacitance.
Multifunctional digital musical instrument
An electronic musical instrument includes a database including timbre data corresponding to a plurality of musical instruments an acoustic data input unit configured to display an acoustic data input position corresponding to a selected one of the musical instruments, detect whether the acoustic data input position is touched, and receive information on the touched acoustic data input position a mouthpiece detachably provided and having a shape corresponding to a shape of a mouthpiece of the selected musical instrument a wind sensor unit configured to measure an amount of air to generate loudness data a control unit configured to receive timbre data corresponding to the information on the touched acoustic data input position, receive the loudness data from the wind sensor unit, and synthesize the timbre data and the loudness data to output an acoustic sound signal of the selected musical instrument and a power supply unit configured to supply power.
