A device for processing an audio signal, includes an acquisition interface of a first analog input signal from an audio source; a first analog-to-digital converter of the first analog input signal to produce a second digital signal; at least one first digital component to perform a first digital equalization of the second digital signal, the first digital equalization being configurable according to first input parameters to produce a third digital signal, a first digital-to-analog converter of the third digital signal to generate a fourth analog signal; an analog processing stage including at least one electronic component having at least one predefined non-linear operating range, the stage being configured to process the fourth analog signal in at least a part of the non-linear operating range in order to generate a fifth analog signal; a second analog-to-digital converter and at least one second digital component to perform a second digital equalization.
Electric stringed guitar
The present indention provides a stringed musical instrument comprising; a substantially hollow body portion containing an audio system comprising an amplifier; at least one loudspeaker electrically connected to the audio amplifier; an audio interface for electrically connecting to a smart device and a power supply electrically connected to the audio system; a neck sub-assembly including: a neck; playing strings extending lengthwise along the neck; a bridge attached to the neck over which the strings are stretched, and tensioning means by which the strings are held tensioned; and a docking station whereby, in use, a smart device may be removably secured to the instrument and electrically connected to the audio system.
Selective sound storage device
A computer-readable medium, controller and a method of automatically recording a sound signal is provided. A sound signal is received by the controller from a sound generating device. A frequency of the received sound signal is determined by the controller. When the determined frequency is within a predetermined frequency range, the controller starts recording the received sound signal.
Magnetically secured instrument trigger and instrument trigger mounting systems and methods
An apparatus, system, and method for a magnetically and releaseably attachable trigger for an instrument is provided. The trigger and securing device are disposed on either side of a drumhead or other instrument surface via magnetic force, keeping the instrument surface intact and not deforming the instrument surface. Additionally, the trigger provides for an increased sensitivity of sound by being in direct physical contact with the surface on which it is attached.
Systems and methods for creating digital note information for a metal-stringed musical instrument
Systems and methods for a digital instrument are described, for example to simulate or be used in conjunction with a stringed instrument. A sensor system detects the deflection of one or more strings of the digital instrument, produces a measurement of the detected deflection, correlates the measurement to a musical note, and produces at least a portion of digital output based upon the musical note.
Means and methods for switching odd and even numbers of matched pickups to produce all humbucking tones
This invention discloses a switching system for any odd or even number of two or more matched vibrations sensors, such that all possible circuits of such sensors that can be produced by the system are humbucking, rejecting external interferences signals. The sensors must be matched, especially with respect to response to external hum and internal impedance, and be capable of being made or arranged so that the responses of individual sensors to vibration can be inverted, compared to another matched sensor, placed in the same physical position, while the interference signal is not. Such that for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 sensors, there exist 1, 6, 25, 90, 301, 966 and 3025 unique humbucking circuits, respectively, with signal outputs that can be either single-ended or differential. Embodiments of switching systems include electro-mechanical switches, programmable switches, solid-state digital-analog switches, and micro-controller driven solid state switches using time-series to spectral-series transforms to pick the order of tones from bright to warm and back.
Means and methods for obtaining humbucking tones with variable gains
This invention discloses and claims means and methods for producing a continuous range of humbucking vibration signals from matched sensors, from bright to warm tones, using variable gains, with either manual control or automatic control by a digital micro-computing device and system. It shows how electronic circuits can control the linear combination of tones from humbucking pairs of sensors, based upon simulating humbucking basis vectors.
ELECTROPHONIC CHORDOPHONE SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD
Provided is an electrophonic chordophone system (20) comprising sensor (24) configured to be operatively responsive to respective strings of a guitar (22). The system (20) also includes non-transitory processor-readable storage means (26) which contains first and second user-configurable tonal formats (28) and (30). Also included is processor (32), arranged in signal communication with the sensor (24) and storage means (26), and adapted to associate a melody group of notes producible by the strings with the first tonal format (28) in a one-to-one mapping or direct correlation, and to associate a control group of notes producible by the strings with the second tonal format (30) in a one-to-many mapping or indirect correlation. Also included is a synthesiser (34), arranged in signal communication with the processor (32), and configured to produce both the first and second tonal formats simultaneously in substantial real-time. The first tonal format (28) is actuatable via the melody group of notes and the second tonal format (30) is dynamically selectable via the control group of notes and also actuatable via the melody group of notes. In this manner, a melody is producible via the first tonal format (28) with a dynamic backing track producible via the second tonal format (30), all using one guitar (22).
SYSTEM FOR MUSIC TRANSCRIPTION
A system for music transcription that includes: a musical instrument; a computer; a communication link between the musical instrument and the computer; and software residing on memory within the computer adapted to interpret audio sound from the musical instrument and transcript musical notes onto a visible music scale. The musical notes are transcribed onto a treble clef and a bass clef, where the musical instrument includes at least one of a guitar, keyboard, horn, woodwind or other musical instrument. A tablature may also be provided for a stringed instrument. The communication link includes a microphone on the computer, where the microphone transmits music to a processor for interpretation.
