Signal recording apparatus, camera recorder, and signal processing system
A signal recording apparatus configured to classify video/sound materials is provided with a reduced operational burden. A metadata generator is configured to generate recorded metadata which is metadata recorded with an AV signal. A classification determinator is configured to determine, upon receipt of the recorded metadata, which playlist a portion of the AV signal corresponding to the recorded metadata is classified into by referring to a classification database storing a classification rule and to output classification information indicating a determination result. A playlist generator is configured to generate a playlist according to the classification information. A recorder is configured to record the AV signal, the recorded metadata, and the playlist on a recording medium.
Segmenting and classifying video content using sounds
Disclosed are various embodiments for segmenting and classifying video content using sounds. In one embodiment, a plurality of segments of a video content item are generated by analyzing audio accompanying the video content item. A subset of the plurality of segments that correspond to music segments is selected based at least in part on an audio characteristic of the subset of the plurality of segments. Individual segments of the subset of the plurality of segments are processed to determine whether a classification applies to the individual segments. A list of segments of the video content item to which the classification applies is generated.
Retrospective capture trigger
An event marking device marks the real time at which notable events occur. When a notable event occurs, a user causes the event marking device to generate a trigger signal. The event marking device includes a real-time clock. When the user causes a trigger signal to be generated, a microcontroller of the event marking device reads the real-time clock and writes trigger event data to a memory indicating a real time at which the trigger signal was generated. The event marking device outputs the trigger event data to an external device.
Buffered writing of datasets and end longitudinal positions (end LPOSs) on a magnetic recording tape and validating the end LPOSs during reading of a later dataset thereafter
An apparatus according to one embodiment includes a controller configured to control writing operations to a magnetic recording tape, and logic integrated with and/or executable by the controller for causing the controller to receive a plurality of records, store datasets associated with the plurality of records in a buffer memory, and write the datasets stored in the buffer memory to the magnetic recording tape in response to a predetermined number of datasets being stored in the buffer memory. For each of the datasets being written, an end longitudinal position indicative of a physical position where the dataset is physically written to the magnetic recording tape is determined. Moreover, for each determined end longitudinal position, the end longitudinal position and an identifier of the associated dataset are stored to a table of a dataset that is to be subsequently written to the magnetic recording tape.
Multi-stream video recording system using labels
A video recording system is disclosed and claimed. In particular, the disclosed video recording system maintains a master stream of video and audio when recording is initiated, but also allows the user to create additional label streams by activating an input control. The label stream can be terminated by activating the input control a second time. The label stream comprises only the portion of the video and audio between the activations of the input control, while the master stream will contain all audio and video that is recorded on the device.
Optimized tape unmount operation
A computer-implemented method for indexing a tape for unmounting from a tape drive. The computer-implemented method includes: receiving a request to unmount the tape from the tape drive, wherein the tape includes an index partition and a data partition, determining that an update to the tape is not reflected in any data index written in the data partition, appending a new data index at the end of the last written data file in the data partition, wherein the new data index includes information associated with the update to the tape, unthreading the tape from the tape drive, wherein unthreading the tape from the tape drive is performed at low tension writing a metadata index to an ancillary storage device, wherein the metadata index includes information associated with the update to the tape.
Methods and apparatus for temporal track derivations
The techniques described herein relate to methods, apparatus, and computer readable media configured to access multimedia data that has a hierarchical track structure that includes at least a first track at a first level of the hierarchical track structure comprising first media data, wherein the first media data comprises a first sequence of temporally-related media units, and a second track at a second level in the hierarchical track structure that is different than the first level of the first track, the second track comprising metadata specifying a temporal track derivation operation. The temporal track derivation operation is performed on a set of media units comprising at least the first sequence of temporally-related media units to temporally modify the set of media units to generate second media data for the second track, wherein the second media data comprises a second sequence of temporally-related media units from the set of media units.
Recording medium, playback device, and playback method
A playback device reads out from a recording medium and plays multiple High Dynamic Range (HDR) video streams that are encoded with video information. The playback device includes a first register, a second register and a playback unit. For each of the HDR video streams, the first register stores first information indicating whether the playback device corresponds to or not, and the second register stores second information indicating whether a display device connected to the playback device corresponds to or not. The playback unit plays the HDR video streams using a playback format selected based on a playback program stored in the recording medium, in a case where the first information and the second information indicate that there are multiple playback formats corresponding to both the playback device and the display device.
Method and system for exporting video
A method of exporting video clips is provided, comprising: displaying one or more video streams from at least one security camera; selecting a video clip from a video stream of the one or more video streams, the video clip associated with a time; storing information associated with the video clip in a list of video clips, the information associated with the video clip comprising a default name, the time and a default duration of the video clip and a camera from the at least one security camera that is associated with the video stream from the one or more video streams; displaying the list of video clips; on selection of one or more video clips from the list of video clips, allowing editing of the time and the default duration of the selected one or more video clips; and exporting the selected one or more video clips to a file.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASSOCIATING A VIDEO RECORDING TO AN EVENT
A video recording system is disclosed and claimed. In particular, the disclosed video recording system maintains a master stream of video and audio when recording is initiated, but also allows the user to create additional label streams by activating an input control. The label stream can be terminated by activating input control a second time. The label stream comprises only the portion of the video and audio between the activations of the input control, while the master stream will contain all audio and video that is recorded on the device. The video stream can be associated with an event, and labeled with an event name by activation of an event control. The event-labeled video stream is stored and organized in a remote data storage unit by activation of a remote storage control. The event-labeled video streams and the label streams are accessible by multiple video recording systems through a network.
