Method for detecting notoginseng using terahertz technology

A method for detecting notoginseng using terahertz technology. The notoginseng samples are pulverized in pulverizer. The pulverized samples are mixed with polyethylene powder in the ratio of 1:4 to 1:6. The powder mixture is pressed in a tablet press to obtain notoginseng tablet. Terahertz spectrograph is started. A peak is saved, and a background signal is measured. The time-domain graph of the background without sample is acquired. The time-domain graphs of the notoginseng tablets are acquired. The time-domain graphs are transformed into frequency-domain graphs by Fourier transform. The frequency-domain graphs are converted to obtain absorption spectrum of the notoginseng tablets. The absorption peak position of test tablet is compared with that of standard tablet to determine its authenticity. The concentration of key active substances of the notoginseng test sample is quantitatively analyzed by integrating the area under absorption peak curve of the notoginseng test sample.

Method, systems, and techniques for determining the age of an underground space are provided. In some embodiments, determining the age of an underground space comprises taking soil samples from a plurality of surface locations within a second underground space, analyzing the soil samples from the plurality of surface locations to determine an amount of a chemical compound for each soil sample, and determining an age of the second underground space using one or more relationships based on amounts of the chemical compound measured in a plurality of soil samples taken over a period of time in a first underground space and a baseline amount of the chemical compound at one or more locations remote from both the first underground space and the second underground space.

METHOD OF SAMPLE PREPARATION ON A SPECTROMETRIC SAMPLE SUPPORT

The invention relates to a method for sample preparation on a spectrometric sample support, comprising the steps of: (i) providing the sample support with an arrangement of individual liquid droplets, for example of washing liquid or nutrient solution, each of which has microorganism sediments enclosed in it; (ii) locating a plate of an absorbent material containing cotton fibers, for example, above the sample support; (iii) lowering the plate vertically onto the sample support in such a way that microorganism sediments and plate come into contact, whereby the droplets of liquid are absorbed into the absorbent material; (iv) lifting the plate, which is locally enriched with droplet liquid, off the sample support, thereby exposing the microorganism sediments that are depleted of liquid; and (v) preparing the exposed microorganism sediments for spectrometric measurement, by means of infrared spectrometry or MALDI time-of-flight mass spectrometry, for example.

PROCESS AND ARRANGEMENT FOR PRODUCTION OF AN ELECTRODE SUSPENSION

A process and an arrangement for production of an electrode suspension are described. Formulation constituents of the electrode suspension are provided and mixed to give the electrode suspension. At least one optical measurement is conducted on the electrode suspension, in each case by detecting a spectrum of the electrode suspension over at least one subregion of the at least one of ultraviolet, visible and infrared frequency range. The at least one optical measurement is evaluated. The further treatment of the electrode suspension depends on the evaluation.
