Method for determining residual carbamate compounds on an elastomeric article

A method and process for determining the propensity of elastomeric articles to discolor or stain is provided. The elastomeric articles tested are generally crosslinked elastomeric articles containing accelerators, such as carbamates. Residual carbamates can cause staining when contacted with metal ions, such as copper. Tests are disclosed for determining the propensity of the elastomeric articles to stain or discolor. The process can include remediation steps for preventing future articles from staining.

Terahertz wave spectrometry system

A terahertz wave spectrometry system that is capable of identifying analyzing target molecules contained in an analyte even if the analyte contains water, by activating a water remover to remove water according a comparison of absorption spectrums so that water in the analyte is easily removed without causing the analyzing target molecules to disappear due to decomposition or denaturation.

Method and assembly for determining the carbon content in silicon

A method of determining the carbon content in a silicon sample may include: generating electrically active polyatomic complexes within the silicon sample. Each polyatomic complex may include at least one carbon atom. The method may further include: determining a quantity indicative of the content of the generated polyatomic complexes in the silicon sample, and determining the carbon content in the silicon sample from the determined quantity.

PROTEIN QUANTITATION DEVICE

Systems for protein quantitation using a Fabry-Perot interferometer. In one arrangement, a quantitation device includes an infrared source, a sample holder, and a Fabry-Perot interferometer positioned to receive infrared radiation from the source passing through a sample on the sample holder. A band pass optical filter sets the working range of the interferometer, and radiation exiting the interferometer falls on a detector that produces a signal indicating the intensity of the received radiation. A controller causes the interferometer to be tuned to a number of different resonance wavelengths and receives the intensity signals, for determination of an absorbance spectrum.

Method for analyzing molecular weight of the poly-p-phenylene terephthalamide

A method for analyzing molecular weight of the poly-p-phenylene terephthalamide (PPTA) utilizing near infrared spectrum is provided for reducing the time required to analyze the molecular weight of PPTA. The method uses PPTA samples to build a spectrum-viscosity fitting curve. The molecular weight of an unknown PPTA is analyzed via a near infrared analysis software and the spectrum-viscosity fitting curve. The method is beneficial in that it has a short process time and high reliability.
