A sensor system comprising a housing having an inlet aperture through which fluid enters the housing and a conditioning material in the housing, the conditioning material being adapted to control levels of a substance within the housing. The sensor system comprises a sensor for analysing the fluid in the housing. The sensor system comprises circulation means which is configured to alternate circulation of fluid within the housing between a sensing fluid path in which the fluid is analysed by the sensor and a second fluid path in which the fluid flow is conditioned. A method for analysing fluid in a housing using a sensor is also provided.

The method may also include monitoring a signal from the photoionization detector. The signal may be monitored based on a current between a signal electrode and a bias electrode. In an instance the signal is above a signal threshold, the method may also include electrolyzing one or more particles of water present in the photoionization detector by closing a leakage switch in order to allow current to flow through the bias electrode and the signal electrode. In an instance the signal is below the signal threshold, the method may include powering on the lamp to begin photoionization detection. Corresponding systems are also provided.

Disclosed is a gas sensor for detecting hydrogen gas in a measurement gas atmosphere, including: a first installation part defining a first inner space in communication with the measurement gas atmosphere through a solid electrolyte membrane member; a second installation part defining a second inner space in direct communication with the measurement gas atmosphere; first and second sensor elements respectively installed in the first and second inner spaces; and a calculation unit configured to calculate the concentration of the hydrogen gas according to a potential between the first and second sensor elements. The gas sensor further includes a current detecting portion that detects a current flowing through the first and second sensor elements. The calculation unit is configured to, when the current detected by the current detecting portion is larger than or equal to a threshold value, judge that the hydrogen gas is present at high concentration.

GAS DETECTION DEVICE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A gas detection device is provided. The device includes a substrate and a dielectric material applied to the substrate. A sensor material is applied to the dielectric film. The sensor material has a bottom, a side, and a top surface. An electrode material is at least partially applied to the dielectric film and at least partially applied to a portion of the side of the sensor material and a portion of the top surface of the sensor material to pin a portion of the sensor material to the dielectric material. The electrode material forms a vapor barrier upon the sensor material to facilitate preventing delamination between the sensor material and the electrode material over portions of the sensor material where the sensor material is not pinned to the dielectric material.
