Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave Radar Detector
20190086530 · 2019-03-21 ·

A device for detecting frequency modulated continuous wave radar includes an antenna connected to a bandpass filter. The antenna is configured to receive frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) pulses within a predetermined frequency range. A frequency mixer is connected to the bandpass filter and a synthesizer and is configured to mix a signal from the synthesizer with an output of the bandpass filter to produce basebanded data. A high-pass filter is configured to isolate short pulses pertaining to the basebanded data, and a low-pass filter is configured to isolate long pulses pertaining to the basebanded data. A microprocessor is configured to set thresholds for comparison with the outputs of the high-pass filter and the low-pass filter.

Frequency shift keyed continuous wave radar

A RADAR apparatus may be used in target detection and/or avoidance. The RADAR apparatus may include a microwave front end configured to transmit and receive RF signals, an analog signal conditioning module coupled with the microwave front end module that conditions RF signals received at the microwave front end module, and a digital signal processing module coupled with the analog signal conditioning module that detects presence and range of one or more targets based on the filtered RF signals.

RECEIVE PATH ARRANGEMENT

A receive path arrangement of a radar sensor of FMCW type comprising a first and second receive path configured to receive reflected radar signals for detection and ranging of objects in a space around the radar sensor; the first receive path configured to provide reflected radar signals between a first and second beat frequency to a first analogue to digital converter for subsequent digital signal processing and wherein; the second receive path includes a second-receive-path filter configured to provide filtered signals by attenuation of the reflected radar signals having frequencies below an intermediate beat frequency, the intermediate beat frequency between the first and second beat frequencies, the second receive path further including a second-receive-path amplifier arrangement configured to provide amplified signals by amplification of the filtered signals and provide the amplified signals to a second analogue to digital converter for subsequent digital signal processing.

Radar channel estimation
12313723 · 2025-05-27 · ·

A radar return channel is estimated at a radar receiver by processing an existing channel estimate along with a radar return signal for an ideal transmission, to produce an updated estimate. Updating can be carried out based on a determination that the existing estimate has become degraded. Embodiments include using a least squares deconvolution to update polynomials describing a transfer function of the channel estimate.
